So i decided to test again on e85 but this time without the interior (only the seats were taken out) not much of a difference in weight but it was a good night with good cool air and gave me issues on top end of 4th leaning out and not hooking too well.... Still anaged to run 12.75 with less mph than the last update video.... Enjoy and thanks for watching

Built B20 Non Vtec, pistons, rods cams, springs and retainers and e85
My b18 engine has 82mm b16b pistons and bc0022 camshaft. How much rpm does your car rotate?
Limiter set to 9,400rpm
But I am using Crower 62-404 camshaft

whats a good exhaust setup for a high comp stock b20z2? 3in or 2.5in? also 3in intake too?
How high of compression? I'm at 14:1 total with my setup so mine is 3inch after the 2.5 collector at the header end
What headers u have?

as of today no, but it was the best, longest lasting and reliable set-up ive had. built it in 2015 and changed the setup in 2020 to a turbo b18 with the same head. managed to make 503whp and 487tq. Ran a best of 10.1 at 30psi.
Thanks for the reply. Did it blow from all the racing or did you just decide to go turbo? I have a stock high-comp B20z2 in my EG looking into getting the most (reliable) power out of an all motor setup. For simplicity sake, less parts to worry about (for my daily) You had the whole head upgraded? Valves, guides, springs, cams? Anything else? I'll probably port the head and get a bigger intake and chipped p28. Appreciate any advice!
@@slumpedmage So the b20 i sold it in parts and used the money to build a b18, I kept the cylinder head which was only built with dual springs, titanium retainers and crower cams. Valves were stock but I did mill the head down to max, (it was a jdm p8r b20 head) they flow the best and generate the most torque. The block was stock b20 sleeves, stock crank with eagle rods and supertech 12.5:1 pistons. Very simple, reliable and I also daily drove it for about 2 years making about 220hp on e85. It was awesome.
@@elmerdeleon8480 Which crower cams were you using? They're pretty much bolt in, right? I'm still learning about engine internals. How much did they effect your gas mileage? That's one thing I've been curious about cams too --- & I'd appreciate if you could link me to the cams! One more thing, does it matter which valves/dual springs/retainers/guides you use with those cams?
& your all motor was tuned, right?
Did you do any head work or just cams and springs ?
In this video is was a cam and spring cylinder head, no port work was done due to it being a JDM B20 head which has larger intake valves. Before that, it did have a ported regular b18 head but I managed same results with this one. P8R stamped head

b20vtec weight at 320lbs, j35a9 weight at 360lbs. You're making about 230 modded... j35a9 is about 250 stock. I like the b20vtec too but shoot for the moon

B20 has more potential than a j series he puts a turbo 300 plus easy
j swap is expensive, and yoo much hard work
theres absolutely no way a j series is only an extra 40 lbs.
I can also pick a b20b longblock by myself(barely). No way its 320lbs
I used a ls transmission, cable gave me a good kicking leg but she could chirp to 4 if ya wanted

This b20 is built from top to bottom. H-beam rods, high compression pistons, cylinder head is packed with heavy duty dual valve springs/titanium retainers, crower cams. Sk2 ultra race intake manifold with 90mm throttle, jdm b16 transmission with lsd, tuned on hondata s300 using M5 race fuel

@@vucci8378 torque wise, absolutely. with a vtec head i can make more power but lose the torque , id rather have a well balanced power band than waiting for a specific rpm range to make the power.

In these older runs here do you know the weight with driver? Also description said b18 non-vtec head(pr4 or p75)? Was it stock port? Would like to build something similar since these non-vtec engines are plentiful and cheap!
In this video specifically, the head was a ported p75 b18 head, and the weight was 2180lbs with me in it

Hey bro I was wondering what you rev to and how reliable would a more mild version of this be?
If by more mild you meant reving to 10k rpm then it would not be too reliable if what youre intending to do is daily drive it. It really takes a toll on the cams being that the lift is high. Its not impossible since i rev to 9500 rpm but after three years of dailying this engine, i had to send my cams out to Crower to get regrinded. Other than that if the case is to daily a build similar to mine. You have to keep in mind with the adjustment of the rockers which tend to get tight after a few hard passes. But thats nothing to worry about if that doesnt bother you to do. I can honestly tell you that with my setup i drove it for about 4 years until my cams started to give me issues. I hope this answers your question and gives you a clear view of it. Thanks for the question bro

@@fftouge826 im currently dailying my car now for work use, so i took out the built bottom end and using a completely stock b20z, i lowered the rpms to 8500rpm and shes a trooper ill tell you that..lol

@@fftouge826 yeah, you can but you won't see any gains from it unless you upgrade to a camshaft that give you power at that range

It's got an eBay plm header that I custom made into a 3inch from the collector back to the muffler...it's all 3 inch

Delete heater passage through the manifold, delete center stud and it fits

Thanks for the comment, but allow me to explain why....it's on the street therefore it's spinning as I'm quickly releasing the clutch. I can't just shift because the rpms are high...I have to allow the car to increase it's speed so when I shift and traction is good, it doesn't kill the engines optimum torque by shifting too early...you can look at my other videos and you will see the difference brother....thanks for the view be blessed
