What kind of bumper is Hefty Fabworks coming out with? I have their aluminum Xterra front bumper about to install.
ahhhh the TITAN swap! Love it - looking to see what I can do to increase the clearance on my 2013 pro.
Good looking Xterra!
Did you install the riv nuts while the holes were uneven?
Was there a certain part you had to get to to be able to drive down the shoreline?
you should have just used a jigsaw to cut handholes in the face of the drawer before you glued and nailed it
heftyfab.com/collections/nissan-1/products/2005-2015-nissan-xterra-rear-bumper-steel-with-swing-arm
looks great, what rear bumper are you using
Picking up my 2015 pro4x tmrw and I’m excited. Looks like you just got this recently so I can’t wait to follow along and pick up some tips! Same color too
nice rig..just picked up a 08 xterra with a blown rear differential for 2 gran (dont know if thats a good deal or no lol) anyway i figured id upgrade the diff since i have to change it anyway what year donor titan did you get your parts from or weather any year will fit?
The first gen titans, I think model years up to 2014.
Thanks
Very clean jeep bro..looks tuff..
Its refreshing to see a new awesome Xterra in the Nissan community im in a frontier but i used to have a x so i still feel like im part of the x crew 😂😂😂
I think 4.10 gears are about the limit on the Nissan ive heard of people with 4.56 but its few and far between one was a guy with a sas on a frontier pro4x and the other guy dod it on a titan swap x but i never heard anything else about it from him.
How did you fit those lights on the roof.
So wait. You can change out to the front Titan diff, is it ok to run the stock rear diff? No gear ratio problems ect? Awesome video, thanks for the content!!!
Yes as long as you get a front differential with the same ratio as the rear differential.
Awesome! So you used 1.5" Spacer for the rear to Karcher the track width of the front? I asked the question once before and people where saying I needed 3" spacers on each side for the rear to match the front
Yes the 1.5” spacer worked great to match the front.
love this set up, uptop overland makes the best roof rack in my opinion!
Thanks I agree this roof rack is the best one out for the X
After owning 6 different Jeeps and their crappy Chrysler electronics I would not own a jeep again ! I'll stay with my Nissan !
My first vehicle was a Jeep but I do love the simplicity of the Nissan!
Nice Xterra ! i sold my gen 2 2010 Xterra and bough a mint low mileage 2000 Xterra SE in yellow, have always loved the first gen body styles and the 2000 - 2001 had a very good limited slip diff before Nissan weakened the LSD in the 2002 - 2004 because of costumer complaints of chirping tires going around corners in the 2000-01 . I do mostly forest roads and back roads to Lakes, hiking trail heads and fire lookouts and have a mild 2 inch lift with 32 inch tires, love my little yellow Xterra !
That’s awesome feel free to follow me on facebook @ trail Xploration would love to see a pic of your Xterra
Nice job man! I just did a axle swap on my sv to a m226 from a pro 4x. I already put the Bilstein 5100 kit from ado on with their uca's. I really am thinking hard about titan swapping but i definitely want to replace my r180 front diff but the only thing holding me back is ill need to regear bc im on 313 gearing and i dont feel comfortable doing the regear myself installing the diff is no problem but if i go to 35s i definitely gotta get rid of the 313 gears.
Yeah I next step is a regear but if I don’t do the level of difficulty trails I like to do I would be fine with the 3.36 gears.
Wish you had shown the removal and installation of those riv-nuts
Good video, no bs. Thanks
Appreciate it!
I’ve never seen someone take apart an entire front end and NOT remove the brake rotor. It’s literally just floating. It’s the heaviest part & it’s not attached. Just rubber mallet whack and the rotor falls off. Have you never changed your brake rotors?
No I haven’t I tried removing them with a mallet must of not hit it hard enough they were in good shape with little wear as the previous owner had replaced them per the carfax less than a year ago.
Beautiful truck
Thanks
I am interested in the code
Sorry that video was from last year and my code they sent me expired.
I really enjoyed the video. Especially when I own a ‘15 Xterra Pro 4X & a ‘15 Rubicon. Will do Titan swap down the road. Stock right now.
Thanks
Have 2 questions if you have time, 1st can you swap LCA and tie rods without for time being the UCA? 2nd how do you change out the driverside motor mount, I can't get to the 2 bracket bolts under to pull it out because of 4x4 differential any help thanks
I have the older version without wheels. While it is a bit power hungry, it is a nice unit. The Eco mode can cut down on power consumption quite a bit.
I ran the fridge on regular mode with my Ecoflow fully charged and the fridge set at 32 degrees. It went 37 hours before it died. I also just used the 12 volt lighter plug for the trip to Arizona for 10 days never really dropped the voltage in the Xterra running all night.
I miss my X. The only thing I hated about it was how they cooled the transmission
Solid rig...I cant wait to start my journey.
Thanks
Did you use the titans computer as well ?
No that’s only need if you swap the engine also.
Did you extend the correct rear brake lines? It looks like you still have the rubber lines from the axle to the body which I thought were the ones youd want to extend to allow for more axle droop. I didn't think the length of the lines from the middle of the axle to the rotors would change with the lift.
Yes, I installed extended stainless steel brake lines from the Z1 off-road in the rear and the front
@@trailxploration30:45 the lines in the background going from the top of the axle tube to the body/master cylinder don't look changed
Following up on the brake lines...did a problem present itself in the rear?
I only changed the rubber brake lines to extended stainless steel brake lines from Z1 Offroad. That’s all that needed replacing.
You changed the wrong lines. The soft lines to the calipers are fine because nothing changes on the axle when you lift the rear. Where you need extended lines is the flex lines from the body to the axle. You will eventually rip out the stock length brake lines at full droop. @trailxploration
Your living life bud. Keep it up!
nicely done!!
Thanks!
Those are Shrockworks rock sliders. Have the whole bumper system on my '06 Xterra. Unfortunately Shrockworks is out of business. Thanks Covid!
Hey thanks for the info I appreciate it.
ALso, do you or can you post the plans for the rear cabinet build?
I don’t have plans but I did make a video on it. Check out my other videos.
Amazing build. Will be following! So what did you do with the void under the back where the spare was? Thats a good location to build in a steel box for Air compressors or power accessories etc. with the spare on the rear.
Yeah nothing just yet may find a use for the area in the future.
Nice. I literally just did all control arms, bilsteins w/ ado rckilla kit, new leafs, shackles, etc. also ripped out my abs sensor when i dropped the knuckle, oops. Needed a new ABS sensor. Had i known the job would become so involved, i would have rather done this titan swap... I was impressed what my bone stock 07 off-road was capable of with just 33" tires. Ive wheeled toyotas and fords before, I think you'll like the xturd
Thanks for the comment.
just ordered one for my 07!
Hope it works good for you I’m a big fan of their products.
Awesome build! I've been looking at getting a used xterra as my first off-road vehicle. Size-wise i just like it much better than a 4runner. How many miles do you have on yours and how many miles do you expect it to last? Also what are your opinions on getting the off-road/pro-4x version vs other 4wd versions without the rear lockers? Any buying tips in general?
It has 109k I would expect with regular maintenance for the motor to last another 150k miles or even longer.
Good stuff! Gonna order this now. Will be nice to have for driving west so my phone is in better view for directions and such. Good for filming too
Yes hope you got this installed and like it I have one in both my vehicles.
Such a great video thanks!
It has evaded me for years got to go soon.
Nice looking rig. Given me some ideas
Do Zion next
