How does this compare to the TiN coating?
Got mine TODAY, Fathers Day, and it cut 90° right out the box.
Wish there were some comments on this video so I could see the opinions of owners of this machine.
So, this is another Chinese company that bought an English name? Eighteen years ago, he founded Harvey Industries in Nanjing, China, as an OEM. I'll buy American instead.
Up until now there's ZERO product videos about this G1000. 🤷♂️
Will this fence system fit a 10" craftsman table saw?
I have a lot of spine jigs that go over the entire fence with Harvey fence having the two clamps so that you can put the clamp high or low. How can you place a fence excuse me how can you place a jig on top of the fence? Does anyone have any ideas?😊
What dado stack blade do you recommend for this table saw?
Looks like something you’d find at a nuclear facility or something. I want one now!
I am the proud owner of two pieces of Harvey equipment. 4HP table saw, Alpha HW110S with a sliding table and a Gyro Air G700. When people come into the shop and see the equipment, they always assume that I paid about twice as much for it as I did. I did have to use Harvey Customer Service a couple of times and I think I have talked to most everyone on this video. They are fantastic to work with and very responsive. There may be a bandsaw in my future and without a doubt it will be a Harvey. Be assured that if you need customer service, Harvey is there for you.
This makes me want to go fire up the old GRIZZLY and get THE WORK DONE....
Doing it now on a Grizzly 1023.
Several questions. 1. I use the Jessem Stock guides on my SS ICS rip fence. How would those mount to this Big Eye fence? I do not think they will clear the aluminum extruded portion of this fence when it is in the thick stock position. The reach past the aluminum fence would also concern me on the thin stock position. 2. I stopped using my Incra miter gauge because the scales slipped out of position on occasion. What would prevent this from happening on the Big Eye? 3. TS fences that lock in the rear have a reputation for pulling the fence so that it is no longer parallel to the blade when locked down? Why would this fence not do the same? FWIW I am seriously interested in this fence as an upgrade.
amazing
I wish I saw this a week ago, when I ordered a Laguna.
Got my T40 this week. Very impressed with the build quality. It is so quiet. I can now listen to my music with a speaker instead of my hearing protection head phones.
Problem with the Harvey T40 is its price. For a small, mini, midi lathe. Right now its $3700 roughly for the lathe, legs, and bed extension. (Plus local sales tax.) I'm sure its a great small lathe. But $3700 for a small lathe? The Harvey T60 big lathe is $4500 when its on sale. Plus $300 for its extension. I know the T40 is a small lathe for those with space limitations. But when mounted to its legs, the T40 and T60 occupy about the same space. The T40 is a lot of money for a small lathe. I suspect if you are spending $3700, you really want a big lathe. And if you want a small lathe, you don't want to spend $3700. The T40 is a lathe with no demand for it.
This doesn't look like a tool you guys designed. Is this a white label product?
I see the dust collection is on the left as well as the power switch but the raising wheel is on the right. This is not how it’s shown on the website?
It appears correct on their website. You are probably looking at a different model.
The 4hp dovetail is my dream saw
I can recognize the idea and safety behind SawStop tables but man, Harvey has something that makes me dream to have this as my first high end table saw. Thanks for this such of piece of beauty, Harvey!!
Buy the SawStop and add this fence.
@@11211lcb yeah I thought about that too right away but for some reason still Harvey for me is something else some more higher level than Saw Stop
Just ordered a 4 hp Harvey alpha table saw. Wish it came with it. Maybe I can talk the wife into getting me one later
Beauty beast!!! 😊
can the router table attachment fit on Laguna Fusion f3? The table saw build and screws numbers seem the same
Why is the belt so thin? I'm concerned this could be weak link in the drive system.
I have a bunch of quarter round I have to make this weekend. Do you think this machine will work for me?
Dont like the motors on them ,,,,
What's the distance between centers on the wheels?
from your customers ... "Thank YOU for the commitment to Quality"
Thanks Chrissi!
We purchased one of these and we're running 75 ft. of wire from the main breaker box to the breaker box inside of our shop. What gage wire should we use, and what amp fuse should we run?
Another table fence option... Incra table saw fence. $450+, + tax & ship www.incrementaltools.com/Table_Saw_Fences_s/3.htm Half of the price, accurate, repeatable, and micro adjust.
The sexiest tools out there in my opinion
You guys should send one to The Wood Whisperer. Think of the reach he has in the woodworking community. #justathought
he reviewed the mg36 pretty poorly a year ago, i'd like his thoughts on the upgrades
I had the same issues woodwhisperer had with my first compass. Won't be buying from harvey again, besides an overweight paper weight, they constantly keep putting these tools on sale rendering the resale value to trash if you happen to pay full price. A month after getting my g700 dust collector and realizing that the delayed start doesn't fit my application they were selling the unit from the factory for a 1000$ less then what I paid. After giving them nearly 7k of business they won't see another dime of mine
Not buying this until Wood Whisperer reviews it.
I've been looking for something better for a long time. I've found it!
How about an in depth look. Not a short introduction.
Now that is sweet !!!!!!!
Correct me if I am wrong: Pre-order sale: $390 for the stand Then you'd probably want to buy the dust cabinet, which is $99+ Tax & ship (about $110) Total: $500 and this is with the savings of the pre-order sale, which is $70. So, $500 - $570, just for a router table stand? On top of that, you need the router table, which is currently $450 - $500 The router table fence, which is currently $800 That is going to be $1,800, at a minimum, to $1900 To round things off, let's just say $2,000. Ha! Get out of here. Oh.. and then you need a router! Overall concept of the stand is sort of cool, but this is a hard pass for me, unless #Harveywoodworking will ship it to me, for free, to do a review.
Looks beautiful. Definitely going on my wish list 🙏🏼
how big can you turn the t60 with extension bed
Brilliant idea & execution
When is the 4HP needed based on your experience, and why did you opt for 4HP? Considering buying the same saw model, I have yet to be able to decide between the 3HP or the 4HP.
the reason I would go with the 4hp is because of the dovetail setup on the trunnion
@@mattd8222 Ended up with the 4hp myself, and it handles oak beautifully
Everything they make is so spot on
Looks interesting but one question..... How does it lock into the miter slots? If there's kickback and it doesn't lock into the slot, the entire mechanism would get kicked back
It's not often someone creates a sexy hold down... but you've done it!
Yes and yes!
I love my G-700 for my 600 sq ft shop
Man are these nice! Probably will never have this one but someday I will have one. Very new to woodworking and shopping around to eventually get a table saw and always go back to the Harvey's
T SLOTS idea dosnt make it cool enough. Some magnetic clamps would let it work on jointer, and most planers and shapers. Aside from table saws and most cutting machines like this the t slot is on machines that are not cast iron. Like router tables. But this is made in Taiwan so well probably see my idea come to life. They didn't think this throught. Bridge city tools is slipping.
Sounds like a rip off of jessems stock guides
This is more like a feather board on steroids.
The figures he is quoting for alignment between the spindle and the tailstock are misleading at best. It is all very well to quote a figure of 0.03mm (0.001") when the tailstock is close to the spindle nose, but lathes are not used like that! The tailstock is always some distance along the bed from the spindle. What is much more important is the alignment when the tailstock is at the far end of the bed and that depends on how the lathe is set up and levelled particularly with wood lathes where the centre height of the spindle above the bed is large compared to the width of the bed and no matter what the manufacturer claims, anything but rigid.the whole of this lathe only weighs 180lbs and probably less than half of that is the bed casting. You cannot achieve much rigidity in a casting 48" long which only weighs 90lbs! The bed can be distorted in two ways : twisted when one end is compared to the other and either hogged or bowed end to end. Fos example : assume the bed is 5" wide and the centre height of the lathe is 10" then if the bed is out of level by 0.001" (when the level is set across the bed) then the tailstock will be out of alignment by 0.002". If the bed is hogged or bowed, then the tailstock centre will be out of alignment in the horizontal plane. Engineering lathes used for metalwork are set up using a block level. This is a very sensitive spirit level, the sensitivity of mine can detect out of level of 0.0001" in 10". Most home metal working and small business lathe owners/users do not possess such a level, I doubt any wood worker or woodworking business does. Your average good quality, even top quality level, is nowhere near accurate enough to detect if the bed of your lathe (metal or woodworking) is twisted. No matter how rigid the manufacturer claims the bed of their machine to be it can still be twisted by the jacking feet or by a floor which is not level. I have a small engineering lathe (6" centre height or 12" swing and 30" between centres,) not dissimilar in capacity to the T40. It weighs nearly 2200lbs or more that 12 times the T40. Using the block level I can see that the jacking screws are capable of twisting the bed more than 0.005" out of level at the tailstock end when the bed is level at the spindle before one of the headstock jacking feet is lifted clear of the ground.
Does anyone on here know if this module is the same as Grizzly's G8000 Lathe that they discontinued in 2021. It looks nearly the same module beside the Servo Motor. Grizzly's was a 3HP that converted from 3Phase to 1Phase. Any thoughts on the motor?
