Any stove action on the cards mate? Enjoyed your vids
You have to understand how the gyros work. It will give up elevator for ground take off. Once in the air it will level out. As for the down elevator that is the gyro trying to level the plane, it will do that because it's sitting on the floor and the tail is lower than the level flight position. I have two of them planes and they do the exact same thing, but once in the air they fly awesome.
10g on the front and its mint
No aconsejo vuela mal.Diseño bonito y nada mas emisora deficiente,no aconsejo su compra.
Rowdy as. Sneaky lil K&N filter adds a bit of racer spec. Looks like a fun ride. 👍 Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!! 6 still has some teething issues, but happy so far
One thing I discovered that's very easy to get is hand sanitizer to use for preheating the svea .it works well plus you have it available to clean your hands before eating. Today I used mine to pan fry a few pork boneless tenderloins and green beans ..I like the svea as much as I do the Optimus Polaris and their chugging along like a freight train sound when running.
Great tip!
Just shared this video for not the first time with others.
Thanks nick
I'M TOO GOOD!
You are ok.. we needed you yesterday
News to me. Thanks. Hope all is all.
Its cool history. How have you been
@@bagheerasadventures We are good up on this side of the world. thanks
Thats good to hear, 2 nice days here, gorgeous weekend
Nice video shame about the fishing haa good adventure
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job man
They are good folks in that team
Great video. Great flying.
Thank you .. i am learning lots
You should take me out fishing with it Mr Scott 😂. Seriously, looking reel (see what I did there) good with that setup
This summer. We will catch up
awesome, I just got given one recently. Looking forward to many years of fun with it.
Right on!
Great little discovery. I use a camping gaz globetrotter pot set with the svea but have a petrel on order so will give it a shot, thanks👍
You will love it
OH for a Titanium version for ultimate lightweight desirability .
That would be expensive
A bit late to the party, but mine does the same. I've flown mine about 6 times (shitty, wet, windy weather lately), and mine flys great. Mine has a tendency to climb on full throttle, so i fly on maybe half throttle. I have had one "crash" landing on 3rd flight (about 2ft or so off the ground, throttled back on landing approach, big gust pushed it into the ground). Cracked a chunk out of the lower cowl, and ripped the left hand undercarriage leg mount off. Superglue fixed it in 30 seconds flat. Can't tell there was any damage at all. Hope you're having as much fun with your Staggerwing as I am with mine.
Did you add weight for cog*
Blue as blue can be! 👍
Beautiful isnt it
How's the UBCO going? Still happy with it 3 months later ? 😊
Very happy
Will do a follow up this week
@@bagheerasadventures Awesome. Looking forward to seeing it!
That is normal. You have it in stabilization mode. The gyro is working.
Thanks mike. I will fly it again asap
Love the old stoves, so much fun to play with and they generally work so well. That double burner unit looks pretty cool. Good looking buritto
Thanks 👍 they were yummy.
What other stove primus/optimus is the same size as the Svea? I had a monitor stove years ago and loved that thing ended up selling it, now I’m on the lookout for something similar just a little lighter/smaller
Hi there, I dont think Monitor stoves were ever sold in NZ.
Holy shit! $1.50 to cgarge the battery??!! Your energy costs are outrageous. We pay 9 cents per kWh here….that means to charge that battery completely would cost 27 cents….. I’m glad I don’t live where you do. Terrible.
Yeah Im NZ, everything is spendy, but $1 us is sbout $1.75nz
@@bagheerasadventures I’m sorry man…. Hoping that levels out for you guys. Amazing place….beautiful.
Fantastic looking breakfast and an excellent descriptive video.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Where did you buy yours?
My local fishing store
Good show ! It would be interesting to compare some of these old stoves with more modern ones. Just to see how technology has improved over the years. If at all !
I will try that eventually
I bought a Svea 123 in San Francisco in 1972 for $9. Didn’t like it much so I gave it away and went to canister stoves and then alcohol stoves. Now back to canister stoves because of fire restrictions in Northern California.
Its nice to try different things
The 111 is a beast, they don’t make them like that anymore. Spend the time and fix it up. Would be a good candidate for the stove wars. I have one that was used as a guide’s stove in northern Quebec, Canada. Mid 60’s vintage, in good shape and works great.
It sure is a beast.. it will get into the stove wars
I know nothing about these but let me say this. I once was with a friend that purchased a drone. There was a process, press and holding something while doing something else sort of stuff, that you had to go through where the remote control and the drone find each other so to speak and connect before the controls worked as they should. Maybe it is the same for planes.
There are tricks for sure
You must have one hell of a collection. You asked about cats before. We have many Bobcat, Fox, a few Black Bear that are trying to make a comeback, and a serious overload of Coyotes. Back in the early 60s when my memory begins there were very few Yotes but now you cannot take 20 steps down any wood road without finding another pile of scat. There are folks with their stories of having seen a Cougar. I have my own. I worked for the people that maintain the river levee for many years and was out there every day for years. If nothing else I saw a 200 pound house cat with a thick tail like a breakfast sausage as long as its body. Crossed the road in front of me on a rainy day and made its way down the edge of a Pecan orchard and the wood line walking away from me as I crossed its path going on down the road. People will say that it cannot be, but the county we live in is named Coahoma which translates to red panther from the native tongue. I've never seen a bear, but many have. The biggest problem we have are the wild hogs. They tear up everything and eat everything. They are legal to hunt all year long as the are considered an invasive species. Some enjoy eating them, but I can smell them as soon as I get the fork near my head and no thank you. They stink in the wild and you can smell them before you see them if the wind is right sometimes. Take care.
The 96 was always gonna win. It wouldn’t have been so close if you didn’t let the svea warm up so much before putting the pot on.
I hear what you are saying.. but the 96 had a good long warm up too
Ideal, thanks for sharing. Several of my pots/mugs do slip over the Svea but this discovery is the BEST combination. Thanks again.
Glad to help!
I have the same set up and love it! It also nests perfectly.
It really is!
Neat. Light enough to put in back of something when behind the levee to ride out or back to camp for help after getting stuck in the mud. Save miles of walking.
I have my ubco for that, its lighter and 2wd. My son just wants tocommute to his after school job on it
@@bagheerasadventures True enough. I remember the posting now. Was just pointing out the handiness of something like that to folks that do some mud riding or have the chance of getting stuck somewhere. If you have a winch and maybe a decent snatch block getting out is usually doable unless you are in the clear cut and even then maybe a stump would hold or you got to bury a log or tire and hope it holds in the ground. I bet you keep a shovel in your exploring vehicle too. Well done on the young one wanting to work and make him some doe- ray- me. I remember reading somewhere that we become what we see each day. Looks like you will raise men.
Hehe yup. Mudding, i love that term. Bet you got some big cats in the missippi
Go with the Svea vs the 8R. I have both but their fun to play with. It would be interesting to try regular burner vs quiet burner (like a BernieDawg) as well.
Done. Will make video tonight.
How’s that 2WD motorcycle going?
Really good..
Wow cool I didn't know they made something like that !! I want one
They are certainly different, a few variants about
E X C E L L E N T 🎉
Thank you
Is it the lantern on the right?
Lol
Hmm looks as if its not such a. Happy stove after all ?! Bit lopsided , maybe something in the jet hole thingy perhaps? I know they sell knock offs of these , bit tricky to use without any regulator
I will give it a fettle.. but its fun
Fecking brilliant that they fit together! I need to find one of those Sveas. They still make them? Or one has to look for a used one?
Hi Nick. They do make em (china - under licence)
Nothing like wool. I'm sitting here in me shorts and sandals. You know I'm still wearing some wool things I bought at a secondhand store 40 years ago. Obviously, they are not worn everyday but none of my canvas hunting stuff lasted that long without holes. Since you asked the other day. We are ok up here on our side. Of course, if you ask most Muricans (our side) is wherever we happen to be at the moment. I do not suffer from such. LOL. I try not to bother folks too much these days. I mentioned losing my hunting buddy of 40 plus years about three years ago now in another comment I made here a few months back, and with the health keeping from getting out like I once could, the computer has become my fishing hole and hunting stand. We sort of looked after one another in our old age while in the bush. Getting old is a blessing but sort of a mixed blessing at times. Not all get the chance so I'm not complaining just stating opinions. Anyway, as you can see, I will talk your ears off if allowed. I will have to go and watch the video again now as I was typing my mouth off while it played out. I recall the GIs of WW2 and Korea having small stoves that looked to be about the size of those German gas mask containers, size wise, if you remember the photos of those things on the German troops. I think in the movie "Battleground" Van Johnson's character (Harley) was trying to cook his eggs that he stole from the French lady on one of those stoves. I have a head filled with useless info it appears. I think the things burned motor gas and would be pumped up like Coleman stuff is pumped up. That's what prompted my question a couple of days ago when you posted the little Japanese stove, if their troops had something issued along that line to use in the field. One would think given the flood of Japanese products after the war into the world that they could have produced such a thing easily. Just never seen one of them if they did. Take care.
I have one og the GI colemans to collect. It sounds like you have lived a life that would keep 3 men busy!
Interesting. Should be getting a Petrel soon and always fancied the svea, hmmmm.
Call me an enabler but just do it
Thx, I've been using my 123 as my main stove continuously for over 35 years. I like how it throttles down for a simmer. Your video is delightfully honest and will provoke me to get a similar set-up
Thankyou for the feedback. I hope it works well for you.
wonder if their troops during WW2 had some sort of issued stove along that line?
Im.not sure, it is squaddie proof with no moving parts, 2hrs burning time. Im doing a boil time test tomorrow
I hope you are well mate . I always enjoy your comments
God that stove is loud. That's exactly why I sold my MSR dragonfly.
I like the roar .. check out my video of my 22b going
The sound is part of the charm. You can get a Bernie dawg silent cap to make it quieter.
Are you related to bajheera?
Hi there. No Im not sory
Nice Svea hack I have done a similar hack with the Stanley Cookset with a Trangia knock off meths burner fits inside the cookset , also at least 700mls Very light and compact ., would the Svea with that heat exchanger be faster than the Trangia ? Might be a cool little experiment? I do have a knock off Jet boil and its super fast , lives in my work vehicle.
Hi there Wooks, it will be faster than the trangia but heavier.
You can wrap some carbon felt around that base. That will suck up the fuel and avoid spillage.
Good idea
I like the look of that very much. How does the boil time compare to a jet boil? Although, I'd be happy to avoid using gas. Best wishes Al
Hi Al. I do not own a jet boil. Google says 2.5min.. this is not far off that once primed. I guess you could put the pot on while it was priming to save a bit of time
To be honest, the Svea is quick enough for my tastes. I might look for one once I manage to stop buying radio equipment. Best wishes Al
