Save the Nibs? Did you mention what kind of Frets your are putting in?
You had the finger board off, that would have been the ideal time to install frets and bind the neck. A much easier way to build the fingerboard, as well as making binding fret end nibs. BTW, that's the way them make them at the factory.
Dude! Your bench is a mess!
In 2016 the pickguard should have 2 5/16 pickup spacing it gets changed every few years.. Go figure Gibson has been saying they're the closest replica ever made since 1999 and yet it's different every single year and not smart people still hand over $5,000-$7,000 thinking they're getting the best replica ever made until the next year rolls around and a new even more accurate reissue comes out.. It's a joke! Gibson is the shadiest guitar company on earth, they make chna Chibson builders look like saints... A 1999 r9 pickguard won't fit a 2004,A 2004 pg won't fit a 2016,a 2016 will fit a 2024 but not perfectly.. And cream tone plastic is accurate, Gibson gets the color wrong ..In 1959 it was a bone white (that's the reason they called paf double whites) cream came around much later.. The cream was a result of companies looking at old aged plastic and trying to mimic the color, but originally it was almost a perfect white and because the plastic (vinyl and butyrate) ages on the inside and outside at the same time there's no way to accurately make a perfect replica of the color.. Even if we cut a 59 M69 ring in half we wouldn't see a perfect representation of the color because they age all the way through.. However, through pictures that just recently been found of 52-60 lp's and so on we can see it's actually a bone white color and not cream and Gibson as well as others have gotten it wrong the whole time... Sorry for the long reply..
Since you were doing binding and frets, why not do it old school with binding over the fret ends…?
My thoughts exactly...
Well, maybe the extra hours that would have taken.....
Do you stain the binding in an attempt to make it a closer match?
Oh yes it’s coming together!
Alll coming together, like a lego set🎉😊
I had a hagstorm Viking many years ago and my friend Ginger from ( the wildhearts ) uses one and who says a 335 style guitar cant be used for punk rock!
You worked for Rondo? I have 3 Agile AL Lp clones within reach right now. I also have 2 SX T styles in the closet behind me.
Super glue tends to dry out over time and become brittle. At least that's my twenty plus years experience with it.
Blort!
Long form oh yes! 😆
Love love that squeeze out action🎉

It probably needs that brass for sustain. I made a walnut guitar body to surprise my Master Luthier. Upon seeing it he said, “That;s real nice Tony but it’s dead”. I said what do you mean. He said, “ walnut’s not a resonant wood. You never see guitars made out of it because it’s dead as rubber! It won’t have any sustain. He was right. He;d done it for 50 years. His pine bodied Teles were legendary around Shreveport Louisiana. Al Collinsworth.
I don't believe in "tone wood" when it comes to electric guitars but walnut is definitely NOT a great choice for guitars. It's soft and doesn't like to hold glue. Being softer, I can see how it would be less resonant in general though. Thanks for watching!! 🤘
I wish you lived in my neighborhood!
Thanks!! We have stuff shipped to us all the time though. Just saying. 🤘
Nice playing, guitar and t-shirt. Social D would likely approve
Thanks! I appreciate it. I actually play in a Social D tribute band called Social Destruction. 🤘🤘🤘
You do great work and love this series. I bought this guitar from a friend that I was in a band with, he bought it at Guitar Indianapolis and I owned it for about 14 years, the neck originally was bare wood on the back with a red stinger on back of the headstock like Zach Wild, I had my guitar tech to stain and lacquer the back and match it up, I used it for my Ace Frehley gig that I used to do. The neck was a mystery and didn't think the guitar would be worth much so I had the middle pickup routed. But now that you have been taking the neck apart, I do think it was an acoustic neck from previous comments.
You actually owned this guitar? That's awesome! It's definitely an interesting project. Are you in the NH area? And thanks for watching!
Sounds great!
Currently re fretting a late 60s strat with the dredded stainless steel frets ( kills ya tools ) the customer is a gigging guitarist and hes told people hes going stainless ( thisxis thex2nd time ive re fretted this guitar) and some fender snobs are telling him its wrong! Ive told him to show people and tell them they are standard nickel frets and no one could tell the difference!

You said you used to work for Agile so... Is the chibson of any worse or better overall quality and value compared to the Agile LP looking thing?
They were very close. I have played and set up literally hundreds of Agile guitars and most of the time, they were very nice and could be played straight out of the box. I have only played two of these guitars from this manufacturer and they both could use a setup and a fret leveling. Nothing major. It's hard to say if the next one will be good or not. As far as being close to a real Gibson? You would definitely fool the average person from stage.
@@Gorillaguitartech interesting. Gotta say to get it in Australia the chibson is a good deal cheaper which is what made me wonder. Shipping on the Agile is as much as the whole guitar retails for lol
Creativity is knowing when to stop. 😂
Was already using the tooth pick in the fret slot before I saw this. And no, not gonna say you do anything wrong because frankly I do so many things "wrong" but as long as it works who cares
Thanks! I love finding different ways to do things. It's really strange when people actually get mad because I did a thing differently than they did a thing.
Every once in a while, Slash breaks out a red Mockingbird with a Floyd Rose tremolo.
Great song choice
Great sounding Martin
I've loved that guitar since I saw Rick Derringer playing one.
Nice! 🤘🏼😎
That’s just beautiful. I have 2 B.C. Guitars from 1980
Wow shine❤
Yessssirrrr!!!!!
Nice work must feel good to get that behind you 😊
Hi, I’m your newest subscriber. Can you tell me where you’re located? I need a good guitar guy thanks.
The 3 Mimi toggles work in this order the closest to the chicken head knob is the phaser ( pickup selector has to be in the middle position) the other 2 are as follows middle is coil tap for neck pup and the one closest to the tone knob is the coil tap for the bridge pup. Plus all the electronics are passive until you flip the mini toggle on for the booster and the chicken head is a 5 position tone filter
The only guitar I's consider selling my Les Pauls for. I've got a 1980 Eagle deluxe bass. Top shelf craftsmanship. Only problem is finding a tech in my area who knows how to deal with these.
You shiw the basics but you dont shoe the real work like tolerances of fretboard thickness at each end and glue up and final set up with neck relief and the hard work
How come is it that I have guitars from the 60's and 70's, the truss rods of which I've never had to touch, I've only made minor adjustments to, play perfectly well with low, comfy action and were not expensive guitars to begin with and this is a 7 year old Gibson signature model that required massive repairs? Can Agnesi explain that?
One of my favorites! I couldn't afford one of those so I got an old NJ series neck through, it's amazing!
“To live is to die”… great riff 😊
