WHAT DEGREE SHOULD I GET?
What degree should I get? How should I even start?
I answer the request of a gentleman who asks me what degree he should get. He feels lost and in need of direction, and I give him the cold harsh truth about university.

Brilliant. I wanted to watch some videos about why Marxism doesn’t work. This was by far the best, even compared to the likes of Jordan Peterson.
Get all 3 lol.. A lot of the courses overlap. Can be done in 5.5 years easily.
I mean, you say you read many crucial marxist books, yet you make the same arguements as all the people on the internet who never actually read anything and just take liberal propaganda at face value. Either you are not well enough educated on the subject, or you did nt understand most of what waswritten in those books.
Even though I decided a couple month ago which degree should i get, this video was very helpful. Thank you very much 🦅
Humans can't take responsibility for their actions. The first man Adam: "The Woman you gave me gave me the fruit and I ate it. Adam blames Eve and God for his sin
this is econ 101 surface level analysis, there are very valid critiques of socialism and marxism but you are just regurgitating Cold War era talking points and it's clear you don't really understand marxism nor capitalism or "human nature" for that matter lol.
Marxism is a scientific study of capitalism, idk how you can claim that doesnt work lmfao.
Can you prove that it DOES work?
If I have my Economics associates degree may I apply for economic jobs? No one will hire me in Finance with my bachelor degree being Finance. It's horrible now they reject me the same day it's disrespectful and waste of my time to go to university to be unemployed so long after graduation. I been looking for entry level jobs a 1 year and a half before I graduated.
Lack of democracy and innovation under socialist regimes is just false. Few historians take this view seriously. How much history did you really read?
Economic stagnation is a dumb argument as much of the innovation comes from the public sector the earliest blue prints of a touch screen phone came from government specially the cia or what about NASA. When it comes to capitalism there is a tendency to innovate only where there is profit motive, build a machine that increase production but when it comes to new areas such as experimental technology such as space travel it’s too expensive to be profitable for the mass population it stagnates only though the state stepping in a providing government contracts does it become profitable and innovative.
The dictatorship of the proletariat is a democracy. He said so in civil war in France. Marx is pointing out that under democracy it is not really democracy in the traditional sense in which everyone has a say in the state, Marx points out that under capitalism the capitalists class has a much bigger say then that of the working class or as Lenin said in state and revolution “ Democracy in capitalism is the same as democracy in ancient society, a democracy for slaveholders”. Your commits about the state withering away ignores the historical reality of 1917. As soon as the Bolsheviks seized state control they were invaded by the allied powers (the United States, Britain and France) as well as the proto-fascist white guards. If they done always with the state it would have failed right away and not in the military coup like in 1991.
It wasn’t Hegel that said “thesis, antithesis, synthesis” that was another German philosopher. Never in Hegels work did he ever say that.
Seems to be working in China. Bourgeiose intellectuals btfo to the peasant dictatorship
Thanks this was helpful
side note : your eyes are so pretty
Thanks for the advice
What about finance+accounting degree. What are the jobs that I can make? Is it worth it?
So this is my question, what about someone who's main goal is to become an entrepreneur like me. My main goal has always been to have my own business and work for myself. Which degree is better suited for that career path?
go with finance or econ then take an accelerated course in business cuz its not difficut ... this way u can be more prepared
ACCA & CFA. perfect combination.

I wanted to go for finance, but my school of choice doesn’t have a finance program, so I chose economics with a finance concentration. I’m not terrible at math, but it’s not really my strongest subject either. You think I’ll be OK? I’m still gonna take it either way. 😂
My career goals are to either be a personal financial advisor, or an investment banker. I just need to make sure I’m in the right place for that.
Thanks a lot I really learnt a lot
Wow Thank you great explanations
Economics is excellent preparation for graduate school (if that is a goal). Econ majors have some of the highest LSAT scores, and some of the highest proportion of leadership positions. From a practical standpoint you won't get recruited like accounting or finance majors into accounting or banking firms but on the whole employers love this major. You can go into the public sector, NGO, MNC, private, academia (if you get a min masters). But study what you like. You definitely need more math than accounting and maybe about the same if not a little more than finance at the masters level. There are economists at banks but those are real economists (PHD's).
Thanks for the concern but what of quantative economics
Thanks mate. Accounting it is!
You know this guy was doing pretty good for the first few minutes, but then he veered off to the right really quick. His arguments have the flaws of capitalism equals innovation, human nature, and Marxism equals totalitarian regimes. All of these arguments stem from anarchistic, trotskiest, and capitalist misinformation. And these points have been debunked
Choose Economics if you want to pursue a career in academia, do research in public organizations and work as a data scientist for private or public sectors. Choose finance if you want to work as a stock broker, bond trader, and financial analyst but not working in the risk management position that is part of the finance that deals with advanced graduate level probability and other highly advance math subjects. Choose accounting if you simply want to be a bookkeeper 😅 be it of for an individual or run an office to handle many firms accounting book.
No one is a bookkeeper anymore… accountants pursue auditing, risk consulting, tax, or work for SMEs. Not to mention all finance entry level jobs accepts accounting majors lmao
@@cokezzz8249 What sounds harder to your ears? 1. Masters Degree in Accounting or 2. Masters Degree in Statistics?
@@cokezzz8249 But accounting in general is so boring ngl. I interned as a financial auditor and it basically is the same work everytime/everyday and it is just so boring.
@@mathematicaleconomist4943 Statistics is way harder. Although accounting requires some math skills, these are not really advanced.
@@GENJA165 Thanks for the answer. MUCH appreciated!
Well said. Brilliant incites and concrete info. Even some of the best descriptions of Marxism don’t really explain why it’s destined to fail, but you explained it well. Keep up the great work
uhhh wages haven't risen in accordance with labor output in some time, dude. what stats are you looking at?
you also use examples of communism not working on huge governmental levels in situations where many, many more factors led to the failure of those systems. people are only greedy when they are raised in a society dominated by a zero-sum mentality, by hyper-individualism, by Christian ideas like "only selfless giving is TRUE giving" as opposed to an assumed mutual oneness between people and their very environment, by a culture that encourages plundering and consumerism and possession and greed itself. and yes, the soviet union still had such a society when they formed.
also, what would drive "growth" is the needs of the people, not the constant accumulation of wealthy by a tiny percentage of the population. if people got together because they wanted to go to the moon, they could still do that? people wouldn't be desperate for more money because their needs would be better met. they would work out of the natural human desire to follow one's passions, to help one another.
if companies had no profit motive to further compete, their motive would become... that people would just stop using their product. it would be more democratic that way, no? steve jobs 100% did not do what he did SOLELY to make buckets of money. i really hope you've found something in your life that provides meaning on a level deeper than money.
@@erikaleo5469then why does the US out innovate all of the more Communist/socialist countries. Profit is not the only motive, but no one likes working for free.
and what about a Economics and Finance combo degree ??? i think its ideal ~~~ i hate accounting !!!
SAME
Just supplement a cluster of business or technical courses.
Hey bro how is finance with economics?and what job will I get?
Please reply
amazing choice... you can go in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, financial analysis, data science, hedge funds, mutual funds etc.
Is it possible to learn all the 3 subjects including maths
yess when you major in Business Administration you learn everything but still you have to select one or two things during your specialization.
@@nycto16 What sounds harder to your ears? 1. Certified Public Accountant or 2. Masters Degree in Statistics?
@@mathematicaleconomist4943 I think 1..

If you spend 13 minutes a year on economics you’ve wasted 10 minutes - Peter Lynch
what the fck do u mean
that was so nice man , great to understand the difference
Do you think it’s necessary to have a double major in econ and either finance/accounting/mathematics? Or econ major and a minor in one of those things?
I;m trying to be in investments and PE. Which one is better between Finance and economics?
Finance
Should i study banking and finance or finance alone? I just wanna make a good amount of money.
double major is always good! I'm studying banking and finance, and for me its better than just finance since all the top high finance careers related content are taught in banking and finance program.
This was 100% truth. We need need more of you
Great video! New subscriber
You could have shared sources, dude.
I liked the theoretical parts of economics but hated the graphs
It doesn't matter what you say, It's always "it's wasn't real socialism", "you don't understand marxism", "marx wasn't a marxist", "you need to educate yourself on marx"... etc.
What degree should i get if I want to get better in advance technical analysis in financial markets?
As a economist you have math and statistical skills for everything you want with data (shares, prices, returns, profits, cash flow, etc) But might you need finance to best understanding about working of money, capital, investments, stock markets and whole financial markets. You can combine both with 2 majors or master in finance if you're an economist first
@@ivantorres5041 good thing im doing economics and finance for my undergrad then.
econometrics
After watching this video i came to the conclusion that you have the most beautiful eyes ❤👀
This was very informative. Props.
most stunning word aslong communism exist there are no innovator. 😂
So what does a charted accountant do as an accountant
I love that economics is broad and has a widerange of work force but am more of a practical person
