I remember in mid forties and early 1950s there used to be concerts of stalwarts including K B Sundarambal in Kandaswami koivil and pookadai in george town which used to start at midnight and go on till early morning. I used to walk from Purasaiwalkam to george town for the concert. I have seen karthigai deepam celebrated by provision shops in purasaiwalkam by lighting AGALS. Ambis cafe was a very famous hotel. I request Mr Sriram to bring out these episode😢 too whenever possible
