What kind of grip you have?

Very hitting area focused I like that, makes sense to me. Can be too rotation focused, can be too focused on just the ball, but I think, personally, it’s the hitting area that should be the region of focus - 2 to 3 feet before the ball thru 2 to 3 feet past the ball. Not that you’ll ignore other regions of the swing, but the “hitting area” (region) should rightly be where the attention is mainly directed. AND if your attention gets locked outside that hitting area for some reason, that’s when the “bad shot” comes up - in my experience anyway.

Nice swing! Are you still keeping yourself closer to the ball at address? Some Hogan videos it does look like he’s close and some does not - maybe it’s the club he’s chosen which determines his positioning

I was an assistant / apprentice under Dave at pine tree cc in bham Al 2003-04. Hit tons of balls with him. He was amazing talent, teacher and person. Never missed a shot. Had an eye ulcer that ruined his putting. Could flip left handed and still make everything.

Saw Hogan, Littler and Bolt in a playoff for the 1960 Memphis Open. Bolt won. Never before or since seen swings like that. What an experience for a 15 year old.

Look at Jack Nicklaus’s swing. His setup and swing remained the same through the years. He always lifted that left foot, turned his head before the swing and of course made his power move through the ball. Consistency! Jack struggled with putting, but his drives were the strongest part of his game.

You are doing a disservice to the game saying it’s an over the top swing !!!! Hogan your idol did not swing over the top!!! I’m sure you do a lot of good but the majority of golfers I see do not want to slice the ball with the action you are trying to sell! Yes many “ great golfers “ do swing on an outside in path but these are amazing athletes! My question to you is have you ever had to hit a ball under great pressure to a green! Know !!! It’s a great gimmick but not golf reality!!!

Nice swing. But that club is 30 degrees. It’s a 5 iron. The irons of old had their 7 irons at 37 to 38 degrees. But it sells clubs!!! No one wants to be hitting a 5 iron into a par three when all of his buddies are hitting a 7 iron! Regardless that they are the same loft. It just doesn’t look good.

You might be a little over the top, but you are mostly on plane striking the ball pure. Swing definitely looks great. Very happy for your success. May I ask, what irons are you now using? Wish you well from Canada. 🇨🇦💝🇺🇸🙏🥰

The lead arm and club combine as a class III lever. When force is applied to the lever through pivot thrust it does so at a point approx. 6" below the fulcrum creating a 6" force arm. When force is applied to the lever through the hands the force arm is extended to approx. 24" requiring less force to move the same load the same distance. This means the same force applied through the hands will move the club faster and with more power than force applied through the pivot. In Golfing Machine speak this means power package thrust (applied thought the pressure points in the hands) is more efficient and powerful than pivot thrust.

I would welcome further details as to how it beats a pivot driven swing and whether the dispersion is enough of a factor. Is it longer? If so, what are the other collateral impacts.
