Network Rail
This is the crossing at the bottom of Chestnut Grove, near the Nelson Public House, Burton Joyce that Network Rail would like to see closed because of the number of near misses and dangerous incidents on the line.

The crossing is perfectly safe. Its the idiots using it that are the problem. If the crossing is well used maybe a footbridge would be a better option. From the camera no signage is visible. Perhaps train operated locks on the gates could be used, or pedestrian stop go lights at the gate. I also commented on this same clip somewhere that the trains give no warnings either. Are there any 'Whistle' boards? Added to these, the fence is quite high, presumably for security, so no one can see the trains approaching, and the banks are so overgrown the trains hit the sides. A deplorable situation. Considering todays highly aware heath and safety legislation I'm suprised some one isn't prosecuted for negligence. Local concillor or MP might look into this. I must say though some of the behaviour also needs looking into. I mean a beauty shoot on a high speed rail line, I adk you ???? Ex BR man
Seems like it would be fairly easy to install electromechanical interlocking on the crossing gates to prevent them being opened while trains are approaching, and also including red/green signals. I wonder why Network Rail have gone straight for closure rather than considered this option? ...Oh yes, cost! Let's inconvenience the genral public rather than putting our hand in our pocket.
I'll leave it for you to figure out why gates that lock automatically are a bad idea. I think you'll agree it's a very bad idea.
@@BrianMankin Good point well argued!
Please explain to me, a stranger. The fence is to keep people off or just animals?
Dumb people.
Death crossing
But up to now there have been no deaths here? That's a bit like saying Every high street needs closing because of deaths? Oh wait, there are actually deaths on many high streets and nowt is done about it and no silly videos with dumb comments on utube? I lived in Belgium and there are no gates and fences etc, you can walk across anywhere and it is up to you to use PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY not to get mashed! This country is so nanny state everyone wants spoon feeding!
Very intelligently. Lying on the tracks full of human's excrements from toilets.
someone alert John from Plainly Difficult, so he can get this crossing on his radar
Darwin award nominees LOL 🥴🥴🥴😂🤣
My teacher 👩🏫 is in there
How much it has changed
ITS THE OLD PARK
I was there
I participated in the 2023 tree planting at the river
Nope I’m too young but I know who will
*Promosm* 🙂
New developments, no new infrastructure to meet these new builds, and no regular drain clearing; yet we have councillors on 6 figure salaries!
1:38 the folks on the pavement say "freezing"
Love the film. Bring back proper cub and scout uniforms. Not like what they wear today. All the cubs except one pack in grey school shorts. Very smartl. Though one pack doesn't like showing there legs . Strange.
Scouts now wear black trousers
What I can’t understand is where the ruddy orchestra is hiding !
I feel for you guys! But climate change is going to keep on getting to all of us!
Trent > river in England, a Celtic name, perhaps "great wanderer," in reference to its flooding.
Has this type of flooding happened before? Must admit - it’s serene n beautiful with the ducks swimming.
Yes several times over the years. There are more videos of the Trent in flood. See our playlists
What a lovely video. Such a brilliant way to be able to share a memory with a parent ❤
Me thinks a lot of a1 pits fish are now free 😮
At least the birds enjoy it. The Trent is a beast even in summertime in parts; a confluence occurs where the Trent and the Soar meet just outside of Shardlow, makes this spot v frightening this time of year. Turns the Swarkestone arable land into what looks like sea. Hope all the sheep were rescued!
Nicely filmed-edited, thank you. I did think when I was walking down there yesterday that I wished I had a drone!! Also, lovely, apt, music - can you put up the title, please? Thanks!!
A drone doesn’t make anyone a better photographer / videographer. Its another tool to use and I find them somewhat ubiquitous now as nearly everyone seems to have one.
@@oddities-whatnot I agree with your comment but my point was more about the fact that there was so much flooding down there it would have been a good experience to fly OVER it all, as per the video, as opposed to standing on the side lines and not getting such a great overall view.
Why do match anglers get away with putting barbel in keepnets
Nice presentation luv ❤
Without wanting to sound crass, is BJ tv the best title to go with. People looking for your channel on google, are in for a bit of a surprise.
20lb of Roach👍 On both days 👍 That’s Class 👍
Brilliant. Much appreciated by an old timer.
well done all 3.
Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.
Amen, to that.
It's a no brainer we need a new Medical Centre fit for purpose ( unlike the Parish Councillors who don't support this opportunity)where do people go to sign the petition ? How short sighted of the current members of the Parish Council. The location is perfect in the hub of the village close to the existing amenities. Let's face it we need it especially with the increase of local population from new builds. Plus a modern health centre would attract new staff which would support and bolster the overworked levels of existing staff. All seems positive to me.
Seems crazy to "turn it down" . . . Definitely going to sign.
Whay dont they want it?
That poor woman. Listen to the punters chatting, obviously not interested in respecting her enough to shut up while she's performing. She should have unplugged and buggered off.
Spring has sprung, and the nursery is back ❤, hours of enjoyment watching the youngsters hop and skip about ❤
Ah, back when it wasn't extended to Leicester and had a single track.
