I saw the first movie when it came out in theatres with my mum and cousin. So much fun. There was a bunch of girls a few years older than me sitting in the front rows who were enjoying the movie as much as us and when it came to the scene at the end when Geoffrey was in Camilla’s bed they all started squealing when the actors leaned in to kiss, lol. (This was 2007 thus “gay” stuff was a bit more gross and cringey then.) The music really did fit the vibe - I use to find the songs on CZcams, turn it up and pretend I went to the school too 😂😅 Ah, good times. Quickly bought it and still put it on regularly. I didn’t know about the sequel until years after it had come out and I watched it with mum on CZcams with truly crappy quality. I didn’t like it as much but I still had fun. Loved David Tennant then as well and he was the main reason why I enjoyed the sequel.

That new girl, Fritton, who they pranked with feathers & was put onto the hockey 🏑 team played Mary Bennet in Keira Knightley’s Pride & Prejudice!

ooh, yes... you must do BBCs Pride & Prejudice. It also has Anna Chanellor who played the headmistress of the other school in the first film... She always seems to play the possible love interest of Colin Firth but never gets him in the end (also see What a Girl Wants).

i was obssesed with tuis movie, but i don't remember anything, seeing this reaction makes me realize how many of my favorites actors I met in this movie 😅

This was so weird for you to post. Just finished watching Gemma Arterton (Kelly) in a show called Funny Woman and Rupert Everett is pretty much playing the male version of Miss Fritton in that 😆

I love this movie as a boarding school alum. We never went this wild but we did get up to so crazy fun stuff!!!! Edit: I love the song from this movie. I sing it all the time.

This was my 1st LGBTQIA movie, saw it on HBO (I think, or was it Cinemax?) and I loved it! Then I saw D.E.B.S. on here (back when it was free, now you have to buy/rent it ugh!!!) and it started a series of watching more movies like those. PS: I saw your reaction to D.E.B.S. , top notch just like this one. Keep up the good work.

This is actually the 6th St Trinians movie. Probably just the first that was widely released in the USA.

Ben Willbond, the guy who plays the education inspector who has a breakdown every time St Trinians is mentioned, was in Good Omens s1 as the guy who faints during the paintball scene.

Such a fun film! The old ones are super-cute as well if you are in a vintage mood - and I am sure someone has already said this but the Everett/Firth moment where they talk about being together in another time and another country is a lovely reference in the previous time thy had co-starred , many years previously, in 'Another Country', a kind of totally gay but sort of tragic movie, which was made in 1984 :)

3:18 It's an ethnic slur for Roma & other travelling people here in the UK. I think they're using it here as synonymous with 'chav' (which, interestingly, probably comes from a Romani word for a child, chavi), which is basically a derogatory term for working class youths in sportwear etc. All the stereotypes.

Hi Jess. Did you know Colin Firth has a near-perfect streak in terms of appearances in Best Picture Oscar nominated films that WON that category? He has appeared in 4 films that were nominated for Picture, and 3 of them won (THE ENGLISH PATIENT, SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, and THE KING’S SPEECH all won, with 1917 being nominated but losing). Colin himself won Best Actor for THE KING’S SPEECH.

This movie is so enjoyable! The costumes are cute, the girls are funny, St-trinian's theme song is awesome. Also, i never saw a film about a school full of crazy and evil students before. It's a cool concept 😄 The sequel is not very good! Annabelle is played by a different actress and is barely there, there's a pirate treasure and FBI, the other girls are boring, the music too. I don't recomand it! I saw it one time then never again.

React to Heartbreak high?

You know these aren't the first and second St. Trinians' movies but the sixth and seventh St. Trinians' movies? They started in the 1950s starting with The Belles Of St. Trinians and there were FIVE films through the 50s, 60s and 70s! Including Blue Murder At St. Trinians, Pure Hell Of St. Trinians and Wild Cats Of St. Trinians! All inspired by the cartoons of Ronald Searle that started in the 1940s.

St Trinians was a reboot of a 1950s till the 80s series of films the best ones being the early movies with Alistair Simms and Joyce grenfell.

It's a shame they didnt do better, as an update/reboot to the 50's and 60's Trinian's films they're both great. Maybe we're due a new reboot.

I recommend the original 1954 Bells of St Trinians, not as sophisticated as the newer movies but just as anarchic, I think you’ll enjoy it too.

Now you need to watch the original St Trinians’s movie, _The Belles of St Trinian’s,_ from 1954. I first saw it as a late night movie on Christmas Eve, and from the way the TV station was promoting it ahead of time, they thought they were showing the Bing Crosby movie _Bells of St Mary’s._

It aged badly with Russel Brand and Tallullah Riley's involvement, but it's still a fun time if you can look past that. However, if you're brave and want to see more of the same kind of thing, then this wasn't the first St. Trinian's film. There's a film series which ran from 1954 to 1966, and the first time they tried rebooting was in 1980. There's 5 films in total before the 2007 one. They're older, obviously, and are different in all the ways that implies, but they very definitely all have the same DNA.

I'm ancient enough to remember the original B&W movies from the 1950s with Alastair Sim as Miss Fritton. I kept asking my mom if we could move to England so I could go to St Trinian's. She was horrified. These updated versions are wonderful and so true to the spirit of the school. And nothing lifts your spirits like singing the school song.

She wasn't a huge part of the first movie, but regardless, I love Lucy Punch. Also, Juliet in #2 is that one girl from Austenland, and she's Head Girl in Wild Child

you should checkout the old St Trinian's movies from the 1950's, much like the Addams Family it all started from a 1940's comic strip
