Those intake leaks are a pain in the 4.2. I have one with 360,000 miles. The intake has been off 3 times. Other than the intake leak, its been a great little motor. Just oil changes and spark plugs, egr, 2 fuel pumps, plug wires and the intake leaks have been the only problems

I like " Goldie". btw color is Champagne I had a 95 looked identical to yours but it was a money pit so I traded it on a Toyota. Still love old Buicks though, have a 94 Regal Coupe now. My fuel lines were as bad as your brake lines.

Always loved the '87-'88. Have an old '85 I need to resurrect after years of neglect, otherwise Id be hunting one of these down for sure. For years GM G-bodies have been popular and in demand, but 80s T-birds have been tragically ignored. My earliest car memories were watching commercials for T-Birds of this era and thinking how cool they looked, even when I was like 2. I have never understood why more people haven't taken an interest in these, especially back in the day when people really got in to fixing up fox body Mustangs. I've had both, and honestly a 5.0 T-bird is a more solid car. They are heavier and didn't have the HO engine, but definitely better built. I would LOVE to see a channel that deals with cars like these, less exciting cars that don't get mainstream attention. They need to be saved before they are all gone.

welp, so, i donno what you've paid for it, and I don't think its a collectors car or anything like that, but those 90s and early 2000s buicks are really, while a little boaty, super reliable. I'm not sure if its supercharged, but the 3.8l is fairly stout and is one, god damn excellent engine. Maybe they'll be some classic someday, but it is very reliable, stout, and quite the impressive big unibody piece of work in a simpler time of 90s early 2000s fuel injection. One point about the brake line fix. What you're doing is totally fair and reasonable to get from one place to the next, and I understand being working class or on the lower end spectrum might mean you just gotta get from point A to point B (I feel it and I do it too don't worry), but you do run into a few issues when you try to repair a brake line like so, like whether the repair will last, etc. And in some provinces of Canada, that repair is not suitable to pass safety inspection. I believe you do what ya gotta do, and im happy regardless you got the rivi driving and alive. looking forward to more!

I have the same stalling issue with my 85 Tbird, new fuel pump, replaced the air temp sensor and still stalls after driving it some distance, so next thing I'll replace is the fuel pressure regulator which is I think the root cause of the issue as the stalling is clearly a fuel pressure loss and the fuel pressure regulator has never been replaced so hopefully that fixes it, will be installing it with my brother on the weeknd and see how it goes.. lmk if you still have that issue and what other things how you found so I can help you if I can, cheers!

Hey guys I love the Thunderbird and the fact that is actually has the 5.0......awesome motor! The Turbo Coupe of the 80s was cool as well. I was a teenager when that ride was on the road and they always caught my eye. My Dad had the Mercury Cougar equivalent of the THUNDERBIRD. Dark Burgundy Red body with the white vinyl top. Also had a 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix in the same body color scheme. Sorry so long winded but nice to see the younger generation getting down with great cars. You all have some fun with the Thunderbird and most importantly make memories
