    Glad you checked the Oil pressure before you moved off. But you started the engine with your foot on the clutch pedal depressed to the floor before the engine even turned with no oil pressure! Think about what is happening in side at the crankshaft thrust bearing! While the engine is cranking and running until oil gets to the plane bearing thrust surfaces!!!

    • @whitewb28t87
      @whitewb28t87 Před rokem

      Apparently I've ruined a lot of thrust bearings. To quote directly from the operators manual for this truck, "Push clutch pedal all the way down and hold down until engine starts. This is very important".

    O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸The Whites were nice looking trucks. My dad bought 2 new ones in 1953 to pull tankers. He had lots of problems with them, so he pulled them off & sold them. They weren’t as reliable as his REO truck that pulled tankers as well & it got better mileage for what he was hauling. I love to see the old trucks restored! Looks like you have two good pieces of trucking history! Need to see more of them. Blessings!🥰😎✌️

    I own a 1948 white bus with that same engine. 35 years ago, I drove it all over the United States. I went from sea level to over 9500 feet in elevation. Temperature range from -20f to over + 100f. That bus would cruise up to 65 mph on level interstate road without activating the govenor in 5th. I never had any trouble and also quick to start. Same air brake compressor and Holley carb, air cleaner, fan shround, grille, hood and fenders as shown on your video. The front six spoke hubs look the same also.
