Barrit were a metalcore band from Massachusetts, sharing members with Bane. Incredible band. RIP to Steve Neale their drummer. This was their first time in Montreal, and later returned a month on August 18, 1999, to play their final show. Lineup on July 16: Good Clean Fun, Barrit, First Republik, Apocalyptic Vision, and possibly another band that opened.

This tour had such a huge impact on me. I saw them play in Ottawa, expecting to hear a bunch of songs from I Is For Insignificant, since it came out like a year before. Instead it felt like experiencing a whole new band that I didn't quite understand just yet. I bought their Some Boys Got It CD at the show and was truly confused by it for the first dozen or so listens. I was well-versed in punk but it felt completely unlike anything else I was listening to at the time. Then one night it clicked and I completely "got" it. What a special band.
