Apollonia Demo at the MIM in Phoenix, AZ
The Decap Apollonia Jazz Dance Organ at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ is not to be missed. It is 25 feet long and weighs over two tons. This video shows the docent providing a detailed history of the organ as well as playing two songs, a Saba Rumba and "When The Saints Go Marching In".

The MIM is in Scottsdale AZ, not in Phoenix
Too Fast! It is unfortunate that this museum has ruined a perfectly good organ by installing an awful MIDI system. I know people will say that the conversion has not affected the originality as it can be removed later, however, these organs were made to be played from cardboard books and people like to see the old ways. Midi systems will break down but cardboard goes on for ever.
Sureeeee. Whatever you say. Carboard DEFINITELY lasts forever.
@@andrewj.682 I note a degree of scepticism in your reply. I have instruments with cardboard books over 100 years old, and playing perfectly. Will these MIDI systems still be working in even 10 years? Will the micro-chips still be available for repair? If the card wears out, the books can be recut whereas electronic components become unavailable.
@@arburo1 ah. I realize what you are talking about now. My bad, and yes, at the time there was some sarcasm in the comment, but thank you for correcting me.
@@andrewj.682 No problem! I am a bit of a purist and all my instruments are restored to original spec and play from original music media. We are lucky in that there are a handful of people around the world who will copy and re-cut original musical arrangements for some of the more exotic machines.
@@arburo1 Ah I see, what kind of instruments do you own?
What a great organ The Apollonia. I think that I have the original woodwork of the middle section somewhere at my addict. It has a minor demmage, but it is in good condition.
"The World's Largest iPod" isn't technically true ... As far as I know, the largest MIDI operated organ has 112 keys as opposed to this one's 101.
Lol. :P
The organ behind the frontage is actually a 101 key Mortier & This organ is now the same organ as the Monparnasse which in its present form was based on this actual organ.
The organ behind the front is actually a Mortier organ of 101 keys that was modernised by Decap In the 1950s.
