For the cost I went with the skeletors as I’m just getting into saddle hunting. Either way a person is gonna spend some money to get into it.

Nice thing is that since this video was made, Tethrd came out with a Lockdown Yoke System that easily attaches to all saddles, including the Cruzr. It's a great, cost efficient solution for some of the problems you mentioned in this video.

I was having the same issue with my saddle so i just put my bridge over my neck, and it keeps the saddle from falling down as i walk in.

I got a trophyline covert pro saddle but i also ordered the jx3 hybrid saddle and its a little heavy but so comfortable

Update to my 1st post. I ordered the knockoff hunt arsenal aider from Amazon for my 30" hawk sticks, and i can get 6' out of each stick now.

I got a 5 buck retractable dog leash from harbor freight thats rated for 50lbs that i use for my pull up or pull down rope

congrats! That's not a Jake, it's just a young gobbler. beard length and spurs are unreliable ways to age a bird. The tail fan is that of a 2 year or older bird.

Great review. I am actually using a pair of Hang N' Bang knee pads off of Amazon and they have worked fairly well, but they are big and they don't hold the strap setting very well. Every time I hunt with them I basically have to retighten them. I finally just used them to poor concrete and now I am looking for new knee pads lol. Thanks for the review, it helped a lot!

I liked to have my backback in front of me, at my knees, was nice and soft and easy access, I dont think I would like it on tbe ither side of the tree

I like the ultralock tethrd saddle. FORMALLY KNOWN AS THE LOCKDOWN. but i love my cruzr xc.i had the same issue and purchased tethrds suspender kit.which has all the extra pieces for any saddle. It solved my problem with no saddle sagging for 27.00.great video and i love your faith.god bless.

You could also try the way I do it. I just use a reg tether to climb, one with a sewn loop and a reg prusik knot. When I am done hunting I will then attach my repel line and madrock to decend.The reason I do this is because it's quiet and efficient. Sometimes when doing it the way you are, my madrock would bang of my platform. I use an all in one. I have the UP (ultimate platform)on my stick. The rope grips itself better than when using a quick link, which makes it better at not sliding out on you as easily when climbing. Downfall is you have to carry an extra rope. But where ur not using a linesman belt, u could consider a wash haha... Glad to see you joining the one sticking hunters. Be safe and happy new year. From the 207

I got the matherhorn last year and I can say it’s warm. I hunt in temps from 0-25 degrees and I’ll say you can’t layer with it because you will sweat.

Congrats on getting to 1K well deserved. I upgraded my saddle to Timber Ninja Black Belt Ultimate for Christmas thinking its going to fit me well for the rest of my gear in 1sticking / multi sticking. The biggest benefit I see is the rappel down. Sometimes I might 1 stick others multi stick but the rappel down is the way to go. Also be sure to back up that Madrock Safeguard..... Keep doing the videos and following the Lord...

63 here and one sticking.

On moving your tether up, two ideas. First, you can hook your leg behind your stick to support you, it works, but isn't the most comfortable or do what I do and just use a lineman rope. Yes it takes a little longer each move, but it is way more relaxed. You might add 1 minute or so per move, not that big of a deal imo. It takes me 3 moves including the original set to get to about 20 feet so we are talking an extra 5m max. Another tip, tie a bit of paracord inside your cam and it will deaden that click sound when you are pulling your rope. If you push out from the tree with your knees you can get that stick up even higher per move and get much closer to 20 feet on 2 moves + the initial set. The beauty of one sticking is that you can go exactly to where you need to go without knowing ahead of time what tree to hunt in. Sometimes it's 10 feet, sometimes 25. Also, when descending, if you feel out of control you can let go of the madrock and it will lock.
