IMO you start Hank with a plan to see what Walker to do. Would Walker swim if the play book is simplified & he’s atleast playing with the freshman he helped recruit or a leader like KLS? Walks legs would allow him to extend plays. Hank hopefully can extend plays his own way by getting couple yards here & there & moving the pocket like a Tom Brady with eyes down field. Moving the pocket with eyes down field is a natural think. A qb can’t be coached to keep eyes on wrs & working the pocket. Natural field. Imo the plays were great outside of knowing down and distance & when deep route should be a 2nd or 3rd read. I’m interested to see if Hank will check the ball down or mostly go for deep shots. Going deep is all ok if dialed in but if it’s 3rd & 2 get the first down unless ahead big time & need to work on chemistry. Going back to walk dumb things down giving two reads & go till confidence gets there. I think auburn’s running back room is overrated, Hunter is a good back but Alston is a better all round back. Cobb needs more snaps but he keeps hitting wrong holes and doesn’t always seem to know the plays as good as Alston.

The RPO requires a finesse quarterback and is more suited for teams without overall talent otherwise, so why is this even being tried ? Auburns team is loaded with overall talent which they traditionally are yet with average quarterback play which is also traditionally true, so why run an rpo system on a team built for “Auburn” football , it is a step backwards and embarrassing , didn’t the Malizan experiment show that tricky ticky tacky football is t Auburn football? When it comes to the pass game. I think they should throw the ball more this game, but not post routes or streaks where our receivers., would just blow past the DBs. Working on the pass game to me means doing digs, drags, slants, those intermediate throws where you see how accurate the QB is with his timing.

Work on the offense to be run during SEC play. Run the ball 50%-60%. Throw quick read passes of 7-15 yards average making sure their are underneath and hot routes baked in to every pass play. Take 3-4 shots downfield. Similar formula to Kyle Shanahan who manages to win consistently and keep all his stars happy. Shanahan quickly moved on from Trey Lantz because he couldn’t do reads and progressions. Shanahan went to “Mr. Irrelevant” QB3 - Brock Purdy who could do reads and progressions and good stuff happened. A solid run game opens up everything else.

I want to see Auburn work on the short game. Move the chains with short accurate passes, and runs sprinkled in too. That's what will win games, the ability to move up the field. The home run ball isn't the answer.
