One pencil set that I find to be super underrated are the prismacolour scholars, they're fairly opaque, like they show up really well on toned paper, have decent pigmentation and they don't break anywhere nearly as easily as the prismacolour premieres. Actually in my entire sixty set I have yet to see an off centre lead, and they're 1/3 of the cost of the premiers. The white isn't great, but that's my only complaint

I tried following a tutorial to paint a glass apple, which required colouring pencils. I used what I had which were some supposedly artist pencils but they just wouldn’t layer. That’s how I discovered there was such thing as artist colouring pencils! Thanks for the comparison. I will try Lyra and FC!

Hi, this is a beautiful video! The only thing I might say would be instead of having background music during the time lapse (I don’t like any background music to any instructional videos), you could maybe do a voice over of something like “well, what I was doing here was ....” and also showing the exact pencil name/number that you’re using by just flipping the side of the pencil with that information up to the screen for a moment just before you’re using it. That way you wouldn’t have to write some long list or something. But yeah that’s just something that would help me a lot atm as I’m only just starting with coloured pencils - and take that as a compliment, because only people who loved your work would want to try and use it as something to refer to/use exactly the same colours you’ve used for this picture. Oh! And my gosh... I know it’s sped up, but I couldn’t finish something like that in a couple of weeks, let alone hours like you did here. And yes, it’s a faaaaantastic book. I only just got the first Romantic Country the other week, so I’m about three years behind everyone else (I’ve noticed that a lot of the videos/Pinterest of RC1 were done in 2016). I hope you actually still have this channel. But yeah - absolutely stunning colouring! ♥️ from Australia 🇦🇺

Love this kind of review, I must be the only person who loves Crayola, its the brand I always go for! I can't afford the higher brands so Crayola are great for me although they do break alot!

i want to buy some of these - have you tried using the polychromos pencils with them to work in the details ? or other media? i paint with watercolor as my strength, i have a few watercolor pencils - im typically not a fan, but i am always looking to try new stuff - so, i was curious if you tried to detail with the color pencils,,, keep up the good work :) nice vid..

You could also use a water marker blender. It works great. I use the Tombow Dual Brush Pen Art Marker Colorless Blender

I’m really looking for a pack of coloured pencils that layer well and blend nicely and aren’t hard that they dent my page, I’m just so stuck on what to buy I don’t want the Prisma colour and I don’t want to spend loads I was thinking Faber Castell brands but there’s just so many options on amazing what does everyone else recommend? I want good pigment pay off too so although crayola is good I want a darker richer colour. Someone help😂😂

Thanks for the video . I currently use cra z art pencils XD I take a lot of time to color a picture or drawing like days or weeks so slow build up pencils are a match for me :)
