    Hey idk if I’m crazy but I’ve bought this exact knife TWICE and lost it TWICE always purchased from Big 5 on my Third! Time around just recently I went to get another to replace the one that was lost it looked the exact same but was by Elk Ridge and for the life of me I can’t figure out why it feels smaller it’s length is the same 14” but the girth and weight is NOT the same but the thickness is can someone please help me. I miss my Field and Stream BEEFY Bowie and I can’t seem to find it 😅

    What is the name of this tent?

  • @benjaminnetanyahuserious3636

    Interesting, i really liked mine but it definitely wasn't full tang. I busted it yesterday throwing it at a block of wood. The metal inside the handle was about half the thickness of this one...

  • @SundogVI

    Seems like a lot of trouble when you can just lower the midgate and use the backseat area along with the added covered area of the truck bed and you have a nice little stealth camping setup.

    I'm kind of bummed you didn't continue the series. I just got done putting together the system you have or had. I'm also an Avalanche owner, created a covered patio area and my wife and I are ready to start the adventure.

  • @1980bwc
    @1980bwc Před 2 lety

    What about all the open area around where the screen patio meets up with the truck? Wont all the bugs and mosquitos pour in through that? Kind of makes the screen useless doesnt it?

  • @donoberloh
    @donoberloh Před 3 lety

    What that a Napier brand? I think their method of attaching the tent over the sail cladding at the rear of the Avalanche missed the design meeting. Lucky if an interior string holds in a good wind. We shall see. Other Avalanche tents have a string that can be tightened to draw into the space. The instructions on line and sent with the tent, are for a truck and don't detail anything about an avalanche.

      They do have similar tents that you can buy for other trucks however they won't have the ability to open up into the cab. But if you look up Napier truck tents they have tents that can fit in the bed of your truck for just about every kind of pickup

    Actually, the big thing I’ve thought about when thinking of getting the tent for the truck is, how to simplify set up. Like for road trips. And where do I put everything during travel time?

    • @hiphophomesteading3650
      @hiphophomesteading3650 Před 4 lety

      I haven't found any better way to set up really but what I have done for travel is store it in my tano cover bag that straps to the side of the truck bed or in the cargo topper we added. you can see them here in this other vid I have: czcams.com/video/edpifnXLVFA/video.html

  • @mgarviso
    @mgarviso Před 5 lety

    Make a partial screen frame that you roll up into the window, like the house ones you can buy The bug tent added to the back.. you need something to go under the tail gate to the ground to keep them from coming in underneath the back of the truck too.

    we have the exact same one and we love it. We found when we got to hot in it that we zipped up all the windows in the tent and ran the ac for a little but and cooled it off big time and stayed cool for quite awhile after shutting the ac off. same went for heating when we were camping when bit was cold. worked awesome. we actually have a campright avalanche tent forsale. a freind of ours sold. his avalanche and gave us his tent that he set up only once so it's practically brand new. we are located in CANADA.

    A 5gal water keg would work better. They only smell when the lid is off. Line one with three 13gal trash bags,held in place by a rubber bungee. Using a scoop of kitty litter eliminates most of the odor.

      Matthew Wayer Oh! My bad I misunderstood. Right on thanks for the input. I agree the 3 gallon is not enough for a big trip. I have a 5 gallon too and will have to try it out on a trip.

      Just remember that a water keg used in such manner, should never be use for potable water/drinking again. I just got an '09 Avalanche LTZ 1500,4×4, with 41,000mi.
