You are probably a light rider, but 7.5-8 Nm is pushing the limits with standard thru axle thread pitches to get enough clamping force for the hub and the dropout interfaces to work properly. Remember, a thru axle is not an axle in the mechanical sense that it takes radial load. It is just a glorified quick release that clamps everything together. High enough clamping forces are critical to protect the frame dropouts and to preload modern thru axle hubs.
