Hi Meidrick. Each line of the alphabet of lines has its own meaning that is understood by architects, engineers and contractors worldwide. It is a form of design communication. If an isometric and orthographic projection is drawn using these lines, engineers from different countries will be able to understand despite different spoken languages. See this link for the difference. ph-static.z-dn.net/files/d38/648348ed7c0ef82db3f5626c008b9e59.jpg Basically, cutting plane lines 'cut through' the object through a plane to show the SECTION VIEW while viewing plane lines 'do not cut through' the object and used to show INCLINED AUXILIARY VIEWS.
