Connecting Ideas to People
Everyone has something unique to say or a gift to share. We believe it is tragic to sit idle when moving the ideas to the next step. This can often be attributed to any number of reasons.
- Great products or services that need more customers
- Sensitive or undeveloped ideas that can't be trusted with just anyone
- Important missions that need more participation
- Not being able to translate an idea to video or social media promotion
- Missing technical know how or time
- Not having connections
- Difficulty with creative solutions
- Production budget fears or constraints ... or any combination of other reasons.
That's where we come in.
Gold Straw Media helps you connect your message to the world using the power of dynamic pictures and sound effectively through CZcams. Ultimately, we will help you spin your raw ideas into gold and share them with the world.
Please connect and reach out on your next project!

I remember Charles Smart being down on the East side of Whyte.. awesome shop too
Is it possible to sell me 20 and send it to me in Yellowknife Northwest Territories please
Does it have to be ripped to germinate?
Yes, it does! The seed embryo is only fully developed in the ripe fruit. The peach seed need a couple of months of chilling either outside during the winter month or in the refrigerator at close to 32F or 0c - Dr. Evans
In my experience, if the seeds came from a hybrid, they will revert back to a parent genome. Heirloom seeds stay true for the most part, but cross-pollination can switch up the next generation seed genetics.
Yeah, you can keep the genetically modified bs
I have questions about watering. How much and how often do you water your peach tree? From seed to 3 years old?
Provided that you have the mid -US climate you would water well in late April or early May for around 2 weeks for fruit set ( Flowering) and again in early July for fruit sizing. - Dr. Evans
Peach seedlings are emphatically not clones of the parent plant. Self-pollinated, as well as cross-pollinated, peach seedlings are more similar to the parent plant than are apple seedlings because peach trees are less genetically diverse than some other fruits like apples. When a plant produces pollen and egg cells it undergoes a process called meiosis which involves independent assortment of chromosomes and also a processes of genetic recombination . These processes produce gametes (egg and pollen cells) which are all genetically unique. When a random egg unites with a random pollen grain, at fertilization. another layer of genetic diversity is added. Therefore, a self-pollinated peach seed produces a unique individual and not a clone. If it didn't, then there would be no new traits observed when planting out a self-pollinated peach seed and no possibility for new varieties produced from that seed.
Fruit trees such as peaches may run 80% clones and 20 % true crosses. Citrus for example may be 95% or more clones. In our northern climate June berries ( saskatoons) are 70% clones. Many plant species are not one trick ponies DNA profiling will tell you the story. If a plant does well in an area or zone why should it change? Why are dandelions clones? - Dr. Evans
Very informative video. Do apricots also grow to be clones of the parent and do they need to be cold in the fridge to germinate?
Many plants produce seeds that are actually clones of themselves. The true seed dies out after fertilization and is replaced by the mother plant embryo. Dandelions and citrus ( Oranges) grow 99% true whereas many plant species may produce 50% true seed and 50% clones such as apricots and peaches, or 70/30 and so on. Most plant species produce 100% true seed. Yes, the peach seeds need about 2 months or more to chill in the fridge at around 0 to 3C or 30 to 35F in order to germinate normally. - Dr. Evans
Love ❤
I'll continue growing fruit trees from seed whether you think it's "nonsense" or not. Don't project your own goals in fruit growing onto everyone else. Some of us have different goals.
PROSODY❤ at its best !!!

Really enjoyed watching your video. Thanks.
Thank you for your kind words 😊

The cooling period is called "stratification"...
I'll be sure to let Dr. Evans know. As a plant pathologist, he loves the big words. ; )
Scraping the non-stick pan with a metal spatula…. No thanks
Will it.grow here in.the Philippines sir
Can I just put them in the fridge for an artificial winter?
Yes
Simple as nature does it is best. Thank you. I got really tired of watching all the crazy methods out there. I have a yard full of volunteer tomatoes from my compost. I just didn't want to throw the peach seeds in there lest I mess them up while digging in my compost heap.
Excellent video, I wanted to know how to grow peaches, thank you so much for such great information
Thanks for watching!
diolch dr ieuan
These guys do have good qualty donairs
Well If you have place you can discover new varieties. Today's varieties are accidents and Luck. If you have place perhaps grow 20 to 30 trees and see what comes.
Natural selection is a wonderful process to implement. We use this often.
Can i grow peaches here in my country phikippines?,
You'll need a cooling process to emulate winter and keep it potted.
And I’ve been smashing the pits for 20 minutes trying to craxh them open carefully 😭✋🏻
We've all been there! ;)
Can I just buy one at the grocery store and the tree bear fruit?
Yes, just follow the steps in the video. Thx for watching!
Trying to grow one in the uk whilsr the weather is good. Would you happen to know if they bonsai well?
We are not familiar with the bonsai process on this tree but it works well on other fruit trees.
@@GoldStrawMediaThanks for your reply. The good news is I managed to finally germinate a store bought nectarine. Had to crack the nut and remove the husk then place in a plastic container with wet kitchen roll and a lid, in a warm place. Only took 12 days or so to produce a root. For now I'll just let it do its thing and enjoy another fruit tree experience :)
Nice to see the Teflon non stick pan the meat is being smashed in and you can see all the coating has been coming off. Sorry but no matter how quality you say your ingredients are, something like that isn't a good thing.
Truly Amazing
Truly amazing!
Beautiful sunflowers!
Amazing how nature can do things all on it’s own!
Awesome demonstration; thanks for sharing!
The first year I grew parsnips in my front yard raised bed & it reseeded itself. Every year I even have parsnips coming up in the grassy areas! Great tip about the carrots, too. We’re about a zone 2 here in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, so I’ll try all these tips!
The carrot tip is fantastic in our climate... enjoy!!
Great method; thanks for sharing! I’ll see if the bulk peas I bought have been treated not to sprout.
Great! Thanks so much for your comment and view!
Love this information; thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome!

Great fun! I had peach seeds in my freezer this winter & am going to plant them to see if they’ll grow! Thanks for sharing! I’m in central Alberta.
A fellow Albertan! We wish your project success!!
Thank you! I planted outside in a thunderstorm in a milk jug container split open to create a little greenhouse effect. Here’s hoping!
awesome!
Thanks for your view!
nice🥰
Thx for watching our fun little project!
I love this! What about hardening off?
Half day sun for the first two days or half sun on east facing wall. After that, they can be in full sun thereafter. The main danger is frost. If any danger of that presents itself, just move them indoors for the night. Another idea for the frost is to use the heat of a house by placing plants close to the foundation. - Dr. Evans
Dr. Evans, just a question for clarification. After putting the nursery pot over the little tree, do you fill the pot itself with soil?
Yes, I like to use peat moss for neutral insulation not bothered by bugs - Dr. Evans
@@justinpasula2886 thank you so much!!! I just found your videos in the last week, and they have been SO helpful! While I do not live in Canada OR Alaska, I live in just as harsh of an environment, in Sublette County Wyoming Zone 3. And we have an even SHORTER growing season than most of those in the harsher zones of Alaska and Canada. Again, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I have a LOVELY Evans Cherry right beside my east facing front porch. It was destroyed by deer several times in its first years after being planted, but it is very big and beautiful now, and the cherries!! ❤️❤️The best!
@@chaparra71 You're very welcome! We had a lovely read on your comment today so thank you very much. We love that you have the Evans cherry. We are growing ton of them for people this season.
hes got the sauce down but a real donair is onions, tomatoes and sauce thats law!
Very interesting thank you for sharing 😀
What if I ate the peaches in the fall and save them till spring? Please help cause I'm ready to grow them
Hi, eat the peaches and put them in the fridge in a paper bag for at least a couple of months until you are ready to plant them. - Dr. Evans
I didn't put them in the fridge though they have been in a zip lock since last year and a very dry should I wet them again and then put in fridge?
