The 360 shots were done with an X3, hence why they are not as clear as the other footage. I had it set to 5.7 K, but as I understand it, that resolution is fore the entire 360 degree image. The new X4 is 8K capable had hopefully it will yield better images. Cheers.

May I ask: what did you use on the other footage? I purchased the x4. Along with the dive case. Very well put together edit. Beautiful footage.

@@Caliriptide I use a GoPro Hero 10 Black with two Light&Motion Sola lights and a backscatter.com red flip filter. The new GoPros are getting better all the time and its the most affordable way to shoot 4K underwater. Underwater cameras and video can get into the thousands just for the housing alone and you can get sucked down a bank account draining rabbit hole in a hurry. The GoPro doesn't give you that depth of field like larger cameras, but it is much easier to use while you are trying to swim, control your buoyancy, and not bump into the coral. It is also an easier set-up to travel with and doesn't add a lot of weight that could translate into extra baggage fees. I am doing a liveaboard trip to the far north Great Barrier Reef next year, so check back in on the channel.

The Red Sea is very amazing. If you are a diver, it is an absolute must do dive trip. And traveling to Egypt is still very safe and inexpensive.

i am an advance diver and i was in Red Sea 2 weeks ago. I couldnt move on to my diving memories from there. So i am watching the youtube videos then i came back cause i try to reduce my loging...:) @@milkmanunderwaterproductions

It is one of my favorite islands in the Caribbean. Fantastic beaches and great diving. Sapodilla Bay is where we stayed. Have fun. It should be a good time of year for it.

You mean not giving a OK signal after emerging at the top of a dead calm sea within ear shot of the dive boat? The boat operators weren't sticklers for that hand signal, but yes, an admitted breach of standard scuba diving safety protocol, none the less. You Got Me! You got the Milker! Thank you. I simply use a GoPro Hero 10 with a backscatter FlipFilter. Settings are ISO 100 min-800 max, Linear, 4K at 120 FPS, using Light and Motion Sola lights.

Fins, not flippers silly

I'm using a GoPro Hero 10 set at Linear / Cinematic with an ISO of 100 min and 800 max, Hypersmooth set to standard, 4K at 120 frames per second, Sharpness set to high, color set to Natural, white balance on auto, EV comp set to zero. Get a simple tray with handles on both sides. Don't use a selfie stick except for selfies, the camera turns and shakes too much with just the slightest of wrist movements. You need side handles to steady the shot. Move the camera very slowly in a smooth pan. Also use a color correction filter for shots below 25 feet. See the links. Thanks Tom. Glad to hear from you. I have gotten better at video editing but the one who has really gotten better is the GoPro camera. They are way better. Watch the Socorro video. Judy the Kiwi went with us on that trip. I still keep in contact with her. She is doing crazy tech and ice diving all over the world.

I have done quite a few liveaboards over the past decade and I would say it was very positive. The boat is relatively new and in good condition. The lounge decks are very comfortable, and drinks were always just a few feet away. The staterooms were very nice, and the air conditioner never quit. (That's important for Egypt in July). The food was very good, and the crew were friendly and always helpful. The dive master was very big on going slow, but I must admit I saw more stuff and I burned through less air. To answer your question, I loved this itinerary, and I am thinking about booking the same boat and route next year and taking my wife with me. The water, as you can see, is very clear with 150' + visibility in most places. The water temperature was 86 f / 30 c. There was very little current, and the dives were just plain easy. Their dive schedule was not as grueling as some other boats who try and cram 4 to 5 dives a day in. They did 3 dives a day plus three-night dives during the week, which was perfect. 19 dives offered over the week. Sea Serpent Fleet is Egyptian owned and operated and they compete well against the other operators, some of whom can be a little sketchy. I would recommend them for sure.

It is hard to explain why, but Egyptians are overly friendly and welcoming to Americans. There was a drop in American tourism since 2011 after the Arab Spring and they have been trying to bolster American tourism ever since. Everyone was pleased to hear we were from America and the guards at Kufu's pyramid yelled at us for climbing too high up. When they heard my accent, they asked where we were from and when I told them America, they told us we were fine and then started yelling at the Chinese to get down. Transportation is safe and the resorts are secure, very nice and incredibly inexpensive by American standards. Just stick to the liveaboard schedule and if you want to tour inland, just use an established tour operator like Viator or others. Fury Shoals is supposed to be great. I will probably to that route if they are getting away from Rocky and Zabargad. Look at their other boats and see if another one is going that itinerary. The Sea Serpent Grand was an amazing boat. It was moored up next to at Elphinstone. Happy diving

Sorry, I didn’t see the comment until now. Sapodilla beach was where we stayed but they don’t scuba dive there. It was mainly off Grace Bay and West Caicos. Check out Dive Provo. They are probably the best dive operators in Provenciales.

It was amazing. This trip was in early March of 2021. Hopefully your boat does this type of extra activity. There are several regulations about how it is done.
