Are you also getting massive friction issues with the gearbox? Specifically with the tan 20 tooth gears. It seems that other people have also been having this issue with the only real workaround being a complete redesign of the gearbox or sanding down the gear teeth.

This demonstration was a massive help for me. Just got to the stage of putting the piston assembly on top and knew there would be no going back. So got to double check my gears and position for the next steps.

Azipods but cruises have been diesel electric for a while but there is still no need for tugs because of the stern and bow thrusters
