Tony M before scalping, I had been maintaining at 1.5 inch, but the grass grew so fast I wasn’t able to keep up, I was making scalp marks mowing at 1.5 inch. My choices were either raise my cutting height or scalp it to reset cutting height. Day 0 looked good because I raised cutting height to 2 inch. But I didn’t like the feeling of tall grass so I decided to scalp it. Another motivation was that I got my first reel mower at the time but my lawn was too tall and bumpy to use it.

@@shaneqi I see, a level lawn would be necessary for a reel mower. Nice work.

Mason sand. In the first couple of days in the video I mowed multiple passes to cut it from 2in to 1/4in. I've been mowing at 1/2in since then. In the recovery month, I doubled my watering schedule, and now I dialed it back to usual schedule.

88bsthomas yes I added sand to level out low spots. No seeding tho, because the grass is Bermuda, it grows back easily.
