They were traveling in big companies. They didn't travel in twos or threes. Whole families and their neighbors would travel for the Passover. The text clearly say they thought Jesus was with their relatives. As a kid this is how even our family worked when we traveled to a far destination. My brother would go with one car, my sister with another.

@@warmstrong5612 if you don't accept the Bible as true, then you are just stating your beliefs here. So I don't see the point really. But if you must know, 12/13 is the point of maturity. The apostles were probably much younger than the typical depictions. 12/13 were like 18 today. And seeing that they found Jesus after 3 days, then it was probably about a day and a half when they realized he wasn't in the company. Just say you don't accept the Bible as true, and stop wasting peoples' time. I don't accept evolution or atheism as true, so I don't waste anyone's time commenting on their posts. It's simple.
