    I hate how some hoses protrude out from the wall like this one did at the end of the video. It gets in the way of a person showering, How can you position them so that they don't do this.

    Hi, nice video. I have a question. I have been living in an older apartment building for over 10 years. My unit has 6" shower arm with 1/2" connection with IPS thread and shower head with 1/2" connection with IPS connection. All new shower arm and heads I found has NPT connections. IPS connection and NPT connection do not match. But can I take out my current IPS connection shower arm and install NPT connection shower arm? Like I was thinking of getting rid of both the old 1/2" IPS thread shower arm and shower head first. And then install a new 1/2" NPT threading shower arm with teflon tape to prevent water leaks and NPT shower heads in their place. Is that possible if the wall holes accommodate? Is it even recommended to replace IPS shower arm with NPT connection in an older apartment unit? Can anyone please help with answers? Thank you

    Always love, good and tight. Watched many vids to see how tight was safe or expected, and what if tight is 3/4 of a turn from where it needs to point. Guy at the store said add more wraps of tape if it comes out wrong direction. lol. While that worked, after pressure testing with thumb against water pressure the second time. Tight was not good enough with less tape ( 5 wraps ) so, pressure testing is a thing. A small drip over say 10 years is a bunch of issue. Add a flow valve at the shower head and woot!

    What's the purpose of the tape? Mines came with tape too. And idk what to do with it because I never had to do that. I'm afraid I'm messed it up ugh 😫🤦🏾‍♀️

    FYI regarding that new shower head you’re putting on in this video. This is a Delta shower head that has a separate handle that goes in the center. I installed this Delta shower head about 1-2 years ago and already needed to replace mine. This is due to the plastic water adjustment knob on the removable shower head braking off one day. So just be wary of it is all I’m saying.

    question: my shower heard comes out the wall and down. I want my rain shower head to go up close to the ceiling and across about (22-25 inches total length) so it will look like the rainfall is in the middle of the shower tub. how do I do that?

    How do you know it isn't going to or is leaking behind the wall? Should you first cap the shower head end first and then turn on the water to check for leaks?, then install the shower head?

    • @70ixlr86
      @70ixlr86 Před rokem

      Yes... It wouldn't hurt. If no cap laying around Thumb pressure after water reaches the arm would simulate a head mounted flow restrictor. Let a bit of water spray the shower wall for a bit, all while pressing as hard as you can to stop flow. Pressure behind your thumb will take a bit to equalize arm pressure to line pressure. A cap can trap air in the arm and may not show leak unless left for a bit to let water reach the arm (only if it is a leaker). Let the cap leak until water reaches it. Otherwise it is just compressed air behind the cap. Unfortunately, not all tilers and shower finishers leave an air gap to peer into to see the joint. Leak down testing in that circumstance, may take gear and a nonleaking diverter. If ya try the thumb pressure trick, cover the hole in the wall till ya are good at directing the small jet of water. Hold it for a bit 10-30 sec, shut off flow, release thumb slowly, peal tape or remove towel from wall opening and look in there for drips. Best wishes.

    Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head. We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have. My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head. Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who's not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don't accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it. I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber's tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there's no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there's leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber's tape to remind you to use it! It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it's nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc. After replacing the shower head, I didn't see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head! amzn.to/3gVZIrH

    Trying to replace shower head with no luck. I did guest bath and it went well - maybe because it had a different type head than the master shower. I just cannot get the * !%# thing off! Tool just digs into the "fake chrome" band and will not budge! The arm wants to move, but I'm trying to hold it still. What the heck? I tried letting WD40 spray sitting overnight. No better :( any other tricks for a determined lady to do this herself? I am afraid of messing with the arm, even though you make it look easy. Arrrgh! Thanks for any words of wisdom. Ironically, when I tried to give up on it we discovered even less water coming through the old head. Maybe crud fell into it or something, but it's practically unusable now due to no pressure.
