Starting a Panther M100 600cc Classic Motorcycle
Today I took my 1951 M100 Panther 600cc out of the shed and started it in real time with no editing after being laid up for about 3 months. It went well apart from a bit of clutch slippage which did not give me an efficient kick to turn the motor over properly. However it started quite well. I have owned the bike since I was 19. So 50 years!

Veteran 1909 P&M (Phelon & Moore) Motorcycle On the Road Testing
zhlédnutí 3,3KPřed 2 měsíci
After Fitting new Cam and Half Time Pinion I noticed the rear wheel bearings were loose which turned into the usual drawn out fix. I could not get them adjusted properly so I took it all apart to see why. With all the space taken up with 1/4" balls they did not rotate when you turned the axle. just skidded around. So I removed one ball each side and the balls seemed to rotate more freely and al...

In this video I am starting my 1915 Arcade JAP veteran Motorcycle at the Annual Birdwood Figure 8 Rally of The Veteran & Vintage Motorcycle Club of South Australia. Mainly the motorcycle is in original condition but I have fitted new Valves & Guides as well as new Tappets and Tappet Guides and Piston Rings. All these parts were extremely worn. Also the Front Fork Spindles were replaced. On the ...

We fitted a new cam and half time pinion that I made several years ago, but there was a problem. I have now remade a new half time pinion with a small outer diameter which fixed our original problem and this is our first attempt at starting the bike with new parts fitted

Some years ago I made a new Cam for my 1909 P&M and by mistake made the Half Time Pinion slightly too large in Diameter. Since then I have remade the Cam and my Friend Leon Mitchell helped me fit it today.
1912 Phelon & Moore Veteran Motorcycle Walk Around and Start Up

This is a walk around and information as to the features of the 1912 P&M (Phelon & Moore) Veteran Motorcycle. Phelon and Moore had some unique design features. They employed All Chain Drive when almost all other British manufacturers employed Belt Drives. Another feature is that they were fitted with a 2 Speed Gear which had the Luxury of a Clutch which was not standard for other British Machin...

This is a Video I was asked to make for a friend who was having difficulty with the 1st gear clutch slipping on his NSU 2 speed pulley fitted to his Veteran Triumph. He lives in Scotland and I live in Australia! NSU made Motorcycles in the early 1900's and fitted these 2 speed pulleys which gave you 2 gears but they also sold them as an aftermarket accessory so riders could fit them to other ma...
1909 NSU Veteran Motorcycle Walk Around

In this Video I walk around my 1909 NSU Veteran Motorcycle which I have been collecting parts for, for about 30 years. NSU's are hard to find parts for because they made everyting themselves and there are only a few in Australia. And surprisingly there are 2 1909 Models in my home City and as you can see they are very Different.

Woooow❤ so, so great🎉 and it is wisper quiet 😂
@motooilermotooiler9597 Thanks, it really goes quite well and is fun to ride.
A variable speed clutch/tranny???? I can go to heaven with a smile on my face. Thanks with a sub/likie from the future 3 years.
Thanks, it is very entertaining to ride.
Nice! I have got one of these antique steampunk looking engines (with Burman 2speed gearbox) but it has been stolen from my barn 😢 Now I have some motorized bicycles from 1950s-70s and one modern chinese but they are 2-stroke
From there to the powerful, beautiful T120..
I never knew this. They were ahead of their time.
Certainly were!😊
Loved it👍
😊Thanks
Feed it some more beans.
Feed me some beans and it would be Jet propelled!
This is a real Lovely Machine, had a British friend who had one in his living room, ready to go
Thanks
Is that Triumph doing about 40 ISH? Sounds like it would trundle along all day. Brilliant .🇬🇧👍
Yes, 40 to 50 km/hr but my Triumph has the early screw on Carburetor which chokes the motor a bit.
Very cool motorcycle thank you for sharing
Thank you very much for sharing very cool
thank you many videos they just sit there and rev it, I was impressed to see your beautiful bike being ridden,
Glad you liked it!
I would love to take a bike like this. Mod it just enough so I can carry camping gear and extra fuel and travel the back roads from Nebraska, Wyoming to Montana.
Cool video. I have 3 Panther, but no pre war. Maybe some day...
Now THAT is what you call a motorcycle, she may be old and a bit finicky but she will still be here when we are all dead and buried . May she give you many years of service .....take care of her 👍. Peace out ✌
Thanks, I have had it for 50 years and not thinking of getting rid of it any time soon. It is part of the family!
lovely machine
Thanks
Great looking engine sounds lovely to
Drew Grant introduced me to your site. So glad I found you. Well done, sir.
Glad you like it.
Very nice idle
What's the lever you keep fiddling with do please?
That is the gear lever. The bike has 2 primary chains and the lever operates clutches to engage either one or the other clutches. Unfortunately it slips a bit so I have to hold it in gear. Normally I use an inner tube rubber band around the gear lever and ignition advance lever behind it yo hold it in gear.
Thanks that explains it, I couldn't understand why/why you were holding it for.@@davidradloff4776
@@davidradloff4776 interesting way of doing gear changes using a clutch per gear with two primary chains. Thanks for the explanation.
Glorious, man and machine in pure harmony!
Great video , thanks 👌
Great clip. My dad had a Panther exactly like yours.
'Promo sm'
😊guauuu es una maravilla 🤩
There is no fear of drink driving a bike like that, you wouldn’t even get it started 😂 What a great bone 🦴 shaker
Thanks😀
Спасибо за видео

Hard starter, the old bitch❤❤😮 2:22
Two wheels, smoke & noise, what more could a person want! Jolly good show.
Lookin forward to building a modern 1 but w/ the details of that genré. In 1907 a guy w/ a 40 h.p., small air-cooled V8 (? c.i.) hit 135 mph, as the vid said.
Какова история данного экземпляра мотоцикла? Кому он принадлежал?
The 1909 P&M was owned by the South Australian Agents and in 1934 took part in the a Rally. It was then sold in 1962 to an enthusiast that tidied it up but could not get it running. I purchased the bike in about 1999 and got it running but the timing gears were very worn and I was afraid the teeth might break off the gear so i made new gears. If you look at my channel you will see some other P&M Videos. Are you in Russia? czcams.com/channels/KJylkFof7Wpjf2KsELEneg.html Regards, David.
@@davidradloff4776 Yes, I'm from Russia, thanks for the detailed story. Sincerely, Victor

Expensive hobby
@@martinlanigan803 It is not if you have had the bike for 30 years and do work yourself.
Very nice . Starts well , sounds sweet .
Yes, it runs very well but is uncomfortable to ride.
Hello, I'm from the Czech Republic. We don't have many velorex preserved like this. I praise it. let it make you happy.
Very interesting motorcycle, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Ingenuity at it's best
It is not my car but I will ask the owner if it is OK for you to contact him.
I LOVE this little car! Do you still have your Velorex? If so, I wonder if I might ask a favor. I am building a model of one and I need some measurements of the tube frame. Is this something you would be able to help with?

Well I’ve forgotten to take my tablets and want to build one 😂
Hi David. I have almost completed a build of a 1905 NSU with a 2 speed gearbox and the 2 videos have been very helpful. I am in Perth WA.
Glad I could help.
Sweet
I've known about these 'cars' for some time but never seen one being driven. I'm surprised at what an eager little beast it is. I'd love one but I'd change the utilitarian, brown 'leather' for bright red or yellow vinyl.
The car was not mine but even I was surprised at how well it ran. Not bad for a 350cc two stroke!
Love the look of those old motors. Ease of use? Eh, not so much. Lol
