Love your version as much as the original.
Binge listening. Is 40 in one day too much.
I wish this was available on Amazon prime music.
Where I can order one ?
Is this for sell ?
Love the harmony on the gang vocals in the final chorus - one of many nice touches Smoking lead vocals Tight playing with some virtuoso flourishes to make it your own. Really a great mix. A thoroughly satisfying listen. Bravo to all who were involved! Please do 'Under Pressure' next!
I love Rush and Max Webster but this version is the very best I have heard. Excellent I hip e I can buy this in the UK
There has been talking of a pressing, but things right now are like a year at minimum to get things made..
The holy grail of concerts at that time (at least for me) was to see Max Webster & Rush, new years eve at Maple Leaf Gardens between around 1978 & 1980. Never saw them together. Max Webster was my first concert in grade 9 (1976-77). Kim Mitchell went out out on his own after Universal Juveniles. Saw him backup for BTO at the Kingswood Music Theatre at Canada's Wonderland, Toronto in 84, then at the same venue 3 yrs later when he sold out 3 nights at around 14,000 each night. Saw him for the first time since then in Kitchener, Ontario 2 months ago. He and Peter are still a force on stage. Check out Kim's CZcams site for recent short versions of his Max Webster tunes. Brilliant! You've done great homage to this great song.
I grew up having to listen to this because of my dad.. Now I listen to this because I simply love it!
awesome job guys ! the boys would be proud ✌️👍🏻🇨🇦
As a Canadian, I approve
Yayyy!
2:11 It is NOT a Rush song or from their catalog. It is a Max Webster song that Rush guested on.
I know that. But it's a Rush recording, that few Rush fans know about.
Awesome. I always thought it was bust the buskers. But it's Max so lyrics are always hard to follow because they are more metaphorical than many bands or at least Pye was.
I heard this song once in about 1982 on an evening radio show on a Denver FM station. It's been on my mind for the last 40 years, but I never knew the title. All I remembered was "feel the way I feel". I couldn't find it with an internet search. So, I asked some people on a FB classic rock page, what this song could be, just a couple days ago. Someone knew it and here I am. It blew my mind to hear the song again after 4 decades!
I just saw this. I'm so happy you found the song again!!!!
Tom, wonderful cover of this iconic single! Having grown up in Toronto and being a lifelong and die-hard fan of both Max Webster and Rush, we were all blown away when Universal Juveniles was released and we first heard Battlescar. I still listen to and love this album to this day. I have to call you out on one little detail though. As much as your cover is truly a work of art, you haven't stayed true to the original lyrics. I know it's just one word but you changed "Uncle Sam's time is only a greased wheel", to " Uncle Sam's plan is only a greased wheel". I would really appreciate it if you could explain. Cheers!
fuck yea
WOW! Thanks for this. You guys nailed this in your own unique style. I love it
Thanks so much!
O.k. I'm impressed. Really really good. Everything was there; maybe just Neil's concert toms missing. Right vibe, right sounds, great playing and singing from everybody. Really solid performance as a whole.
There's a video on YT of Alex playing it with them also.
jeez wow !!
I saw Max Webster and Rush together back in 1980 One great show
Great cover of this classic! I was searching for the original song and ran across this. You guys nailed it🎸🎶
I've said it before and I'll say it for the 2,112th time: Battle Scar is the greatest rock song of all time.
Hello from France..Great band , you are Max Webster & Rush reincarnated !
Hey, thanks!
Very well done, folks. Very well done indeed! Max Webster played my high school back in the '70's and also saw them opening for Rush a few times. Very underrated band. Between Max and Rush, they both provided me with great soundtrack for my life, because their songs never age.
Great mini documentary of a song I knew from the original release here in the United Kingdom I bought the single and max Webster album universal juveniles. Sad it didn't get more exposure other than fans hearing it. It's a great version and. Great to know you are all fans as well. Many thanks.
So awesome to see Lisa McCuiston. I'm a huge fan...
Yep, she's the goods!
Best cover ever! I'm a fan of both bands and Kim's solo work.
I can't stop watching! I get goosebumps and it makes me weep. I have so much love for this and have been sharing it everywhere. I'm taking a course on grief and bereavement support and I included this in one of our discussions. EMPATHY!!! Fantastic work!
Thank you, Ingrid. It is warming to know. Be well and stay safe.
Holy Smokes!!!!! That is just astonishing. I'm humbled that it struck you at level and honored that you're using it to enlighten others. Wow. Thank you
Great cover! I also like how they needed a woman to fill Geddy's vocal parts 😂
Right?! Thanks Jacob. So glad you enjoyed it
beautiful bass
Glad you like it!
Just awesome. I just can't get over how none of the energy and power of the original is lost - and I've been a Rush fan since AFTK. Just so amazed at how powerful this version is.
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastically kind feedback! Glad you enjoyed it so much.
WTF????? That rendition of a superb song was ABSOLUTELY FUKIN BRILLIANT. The vocals WOW. Must look up the fella as his gravelly voice is Awesome. She's effin Awesome too. The musicians jelled bob on. Is this a group or made up of session artists?
It is a project put together by Tom Gordon and artists here in Reno NV as a charity project. donorbox.org/battle-scar-charity-single

Fascinating! News to this frost bitten Canadian boy. We need the world to hear” Take Off” by RUSH and Bob and Doug Mackenzie
As a British Rush fan who also became a Max Webster fan after hearing the original Battle Scar a number of years ago, you guys have done this song so much justice! Hope you raise lots of money and awareness for your charity. Fantastic documentary too.
