1984 K10 14 Bolt Rear Disk Conversion
In this video I will be doing a rear disk conversion on my 1984 Chevy K10 that the running gear has been swapped to 3\4 ton running gear. I don't like the look of a bid drum on the rear so we are gonna fix that.

    If I use a 2wd 4L80E and cut the tail housing shaft will I need to run a VSS on the t-case or will the 2wd 4L80E already have a VSS running to the computer and can I use my mechanical speedometer

      The 2wd 4L80E should have 2 vss on it. You will use it. Can’t use the old speed gauge cable with electric vss on this setup.

    Thank you for this video. Will the mower overheat by disabling the shutoff? Why the heck do they put this part in if it's not needed. In Canada, the John deere part is $250.

      No it won’t over heat. It’s there as an anti backfire device. When you turn the key off it stops the fuel immediately.

    There is no need to take out the wires and wrap them around all you do is put them in the socket

    Desperate for answers, I really hope you see this. Lx255 runs until hot then wants to die, I can limp it back to my trailer by fluctuating choke. Starts again next day to do the same over again, what gives? I’m at my wits end. Thank you in advance!

      @@LonniesGarage wow, thank you so much for seeing this right away. could it be electrical even knowing that I need to use choke to keep it running? I did suspect the coil or the fuel solenoid, but the choke part of the equation has me stumped

    I've replaced 2 fuel solenoids on my JD e110, my 3rd one just burned out. This worked perfectly and saved me another visit to the mechanic. THANK YOU!

    honestly i might follow this to disable the solenoid on my craftsman riding mower as it is really messing with the carburetor and making the engine run poorly. i really dont know why these kinds of things are installed as it tends to create more problems than it solves.

      I used Speed Engineering 1 7/8” long tube C10 LS swap headers. Test they fit great in a K10 6.0/4L80E swapped

    Can't believe this was the problem. I removed the solenoid and it worked properly in my hand so I didn't want to cut it. Instead I found a float bowl bolt with gasket from a club car golf cart and it plugged the solenoid hole perfectly 😂 it runs like new 😂 zip tied the wires to the intake manifold, off and mowing. ❤

    Hi! Great video, i just did this on my 82 C10 yesterday but now the battery voltage gauge isn’t working also the cluster lights don’t come on! Also on the diagram you’ve mentioned to tie #4 wire with #17 is that correct?

    You don't need to heat up the harmonic balancer. That is a bad idea... it can ruin the front seal and ruin the harmonic ballancer itself. Not to mention, you will likely burn yourself. It is just not necessary.

    I believe if u put the belt down through the shifter plate where u sit at and over the shifter itself you dont need to take anything apart

    I bought a lokar and it's crazy tight, like in a bind..can't get to prvd but they're all very very close. I'll have to take a closer look at the stock one.

    Didn’t work for my riding mower , had to buy a new one , ran fine afterwards . I guess it was just a bad Solenoid .

      This is an anti backfire solenoid. It just cuts the fuel off when you turn the key off to keep the fuel from continuing to run into the needle.

      Then you have something wrong. Check your wiring and fuses

      @@LonniesGarage Yeah… been through all the fuses… switch seems to be good (ohmed it) going to start tracing. I can’t seem to find if mines different because it started life as a 6.2 diesel. 1982 GMC K2500 Appreciate the videos Still very helpful!

      It gets wired to the ls motors computer.

    I’m doing the same thing right now, did you run into any issues with the adapter hole pattern not matching the 208’s bolt pattern? Seems like all the holes line up but one or two. Pretty certain I have the same adapter as you.

      You will need gauges out of a 90/91 blazer or suburban. That’s the year they switched to electric speedometer. Then you will have to repin the cluster plug. I’ve got videos on here showing it.

      @@michaelperry7261 yes you can. But I would at most want an oil pressure gauge and a temp gauge.
