    Im thinking of putting a teklo deck together. How important is twin drive for the hybrid list?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 14 dny

      Honestly its very replaceable, its a nice piece for consistency and helps you banish more of the deck earlier for getting evos faster when needed and helps combo with harpoon into some of the harder matchups but you'd probably be just as fine with dive through data, dumpster dive, or yellow zipper instead, or something else you prefer more

    New player here! Love watching gameplay since it helps a lot in learning him. I just have to ask, why do you play the Hybrid build over the control one? Isn't going the "all in on singularity" route a good strategy as well?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před měsícem

      They're both good strategies, it partially comes down to what you like for a play style and what you prefer for a matchup spread, so basically what decks you want to be better into and which you want to be worse into based on how you've built your deck. Teklovossen as a hero has some of the weakest first few turns of the game, you have no blocking equipment, everything that advances your gameplan costs 4, you play minimum 6 cards in your deck that are severely below the accepted rate and are only played because they become your wincon once you have 4 evos equipped. So one thing hybrid helps here is instead of just blocking those first few turns and waiting to draw evos, you can threaten damage and interactive gameplay in those early turns, but also you're a mechanologist so every card blocks 3 which is the default rate of blocking cards and very good so you can also block very well if you need to. A second benefit of being able to boost is you get to see more of your deck, so you're often seeing ~6 cards per turn from your deck, 2 boosts and the 4 you draw, which increases your chances of seeing an evo card, and there's little downside to boosting to find your evos sooner since you can play your evos from banish and can reccur at least 1 card from banish with evo recall, also its unlikely that you'll banish all your 9 power overpower attacks and you often only need a few to win. A lot of these factors combined make me feel like I have more control over my deck throughout my games as teklovossen which is why I prefer hybrid at least. you can also if you're counting your deck do stuff like pitching a few cards that are really strong early on and boosting through your deck to get to them faster. Control is still a very powerful deck that has some really good matchups, it basically plays every matchup to go to turn 15-20+ that way you can slowly just see your entire deck and play out singularity, but it has very little real pressure until then and can struggle against decks that can kill them before then, but excels against any other grindy deck.

  • @ACRLZ
    @ACRLZ Před měsícem

    I’m still at the start of the video but I see you’ve put on the short circuit turn 0. Would you say against uzuri you should be rushing to get as many evos on as possible? Like you would do in rush down matchups

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před měsícem

      so I am only playing the mst head and arms into this matchup, so equipping early doesn't have that many consequences in case I want to play singularity. I wouldn't say that I want to rush down but I do want to safely get to 4 as fast as I can, uzuri builds like this one don't always block that well so I want to be able to send tanks faster for sure since its easier to just win by damage into redline and you may need to; but even before most swaps I'm blocking with 1 card unless if I block with that card and the swap is a surgical I wouldn't have a turn. If the game is going slowly and its contract uzuri though for example then I'd probably try to preserve life even more, play every tank I can, and really focus on winning with singularity and having the arm slot available for when I flip.

      @@Zandrenel I don't usually see so much boost in Teklo. Do you find that it changes much of the match up profile? Why do you like that form of the deck?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 2 měsíci

      @@johnmeunier2796 absolutely, so kano is unwinnable on control if they can pitch stack but winnable here, same thing with illusionists since you can threaten wide turns and pop ward or spectra, you get to play a lot more flexibly in general and if you aren’t seeing evos you can just boost for the sake of accelerating the velocity in which you see your deck, same applies to if you set up a singularitu pitch stack or need to close out a game but know you pitched a terminator tank turn 2-3 so you boost to draw it sooner. You’re still very favoured into decks that are grindy since your endgame is just better and you don’t need to boost, and their titans fist for 4 every turn is worst than leveler into non boosted zipper or tank or singularity every turn. It allows a better vynnset matchup too since you get to punish any off turn they have by threatening a decent chunk of their life. Azalea is still hard, same for ninja but they’re beatable sometimes. Personally i just really like the flexibility the style of play has and that its more value based and has a chance into everything just about

  • @CasualTimmy
    @CasualTimmy Před 2 měsíci

    I just started picking up teklovossen, wondering what's the plan when you boost away mechropotent?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 2 měsíci

      So most matchups that you absolutely need to boost in singularity is much more a "win more" than the only wincon of the deck, your zipper hits and throttles with leveler will often threaten decent amounts of damage and you can close most games with 2-3 of the 9 power overpower cards. That said if you need to boost and singularity is what you consider the wincon of the matchup and you absolutely needed to boost, we play 1 evo recall so that you can recur singularity from banish. There are also several matchups though where singularity is the way you win and into each of those its often preferable to not boost unless needed, like into fatigue bravo. Singularity is a great anti fatigue power card essentially but no longer the sole wincon of the deck now that 4 evos is easier achieved.

    Holding that speedslip for the scrap into EVO play down the line was masterful. Do you always try to fatigue DIO?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you! honestly it was a really cool line I didn't see at first but the other use case I was holding it for was fabricate to get the last 2 block from the legs, then equip, then get another 1 block on a second chain link, and I can't race dio so if I could I'd try to kill by damage, but by fatigue is a lot more doable, it has to be interactive fatigue if that makes sense though, like I wouldn't be able to fatigue a good dio on this list without sandbagging a demolition protocol or overpower attack and sending them to disrupt their big turns when they happen. Also they started 70 cards and I was down to 10 cards myself by the end so they were almost fatiguing me. maybe it would have been even closer if they counted their action points and didn't overboost on their two high octane turns cause I think for each one they ended with an extra 2-3 action points?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 3 měsíci

      If I could just play 90 cards honestly I'd feel prepared fully for everything, I think pulswave protocol does a lot into aggro or decks with delicate cost curves, being able to take their 1 blue in hand or their go again source is often pretty good, but depends on the matchup, still debating if its better to keep in a few pulsewave protocols, add in more engines for the 9 overpower, or add in 3 sinks to help with assassin.... also same argument of do I keep in demo protocols or not, locally they're needed since I actually have other mech players and prism players locally, but when playing the list online not sure if they are since the mech and prism matchup is a lot more rare

      @@Zandrenel I really enjoy using the demolition protocol because what they do extremely well being popping and aiding the mech matchups because of how incredibly impactful it’s effect is. And I also think the pulsewave card is good because if you have all 4 equipped it helps where you struggle and it isn’t hard to have all equipment because of the new instants but they pitch for 2 wich is just sometimes akward. same for demo protocol, and its a good value mech card so you can boost it so its always so easy to include 2-3 of them in sideboard, and good luck with it! I agree with pulsewave being really good too, just debating what matchups to target more....

      So if you want to use that mode you do, but currently I'm just using it for the other 3 modes of buffing armour block, going under armour, and banish/draw. • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 3 měsíci

      So you can play the card which counts just as paying the cost, and teklo will still let you draw a card cause it was technically played, but you're right that you can't play it on top of a non base, the evo checks when it resolves if it has a valid target, so what happened was there was no valid target so it basically failed to resolve or "negated itself" but it was still able to be played since it only needs a target on resolution, not on play, notice that right after its also the top most card of my graveyard too

    For this one I'll add a comment kinda commentating my decisions to point out what plays I think could be optimized and were just wrong or sloppy to begin with. t0: I think I could have tried to filter my hand without boosting since I had 6 generic d-reacts in deck and I didn't side in evo recall, but I was not punished for taking an unneeded risk t6: I knew he had a pummel available with his hand, open + arsenal or assumed so, so I decided to take the damage to equip an evo + arsenal the react since visit the goldmane estate usually foretellls a golden sun for 14 overpower + pummel their turn: Since I knew or suspected the pummel already the cnc pummel for 14 was a lot, I didn't block with the last card in hand and decided so that I could arsenal the fabricate since my hand didn't block 14 against a cnc t8: I think I should have chosen to put fabricate under my legs + the banish mode, I've been blocking so agressively that my deck size is lowering faster and I could have comfortably blocked 9 exact with legs, sink, and pulsewave from hand lets say, then no matter what I draw off of the sink I would have had 4 resources minimum to be able to equip the arms from banish and pass turn and I would have taken 2 less damage t11: sse blocked for 4, and this is often a long game, rather than block with the throttle I should have blocked with the sse, memory from hand, equipped memory, would have been a clean block for 10 and by leaving a blue in hand I could pitch it + the zero to equip an evo on my turn and keep more damage in my deck doing so t12: I should have blocked hammer with the controller in hand, better just to preserve life and my turn anyways was going to be scrap trader, t13: So the pummel was obvious there but there probably is argument that I should have covered the extra block that turn with my evos, I can't play around pummel forever but I was close to second cycle and drawing singularity again, also my turn was send a terminator tank if I blocked the pummel and they were only playing 1.5 blocking equipment so without using several block cards they probably wouldn't have been able to block it out then wouldn't be able to threaten pummel the turn after at least. t15: to explain my reasoning there of arsenalling the pulsewave and attacking with zero instead of pitching both to mechro swing for another 6, my deck size was low, my opponents was still not but the deck size gap could absolutely be closed, I wanted to threaten damage and kinda setup options for if my turn wasn't good to where I could kinda disrupt my opponent's turn by taking any reasonable threat and save mechropotent soul swing gas since every swing cost so much In all I think the game was winnable but there were definitely a lot of spots I could have played tighter. Was pretty cool seeing victor send several 14+ power attacks though

    Why run the red instant EVOs over the yellow ones?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 6 měsíci

      The red ones just have more powerful effects that help you race your opponent. Also the matchups i use the red evos i don’t expect to get more than 2 evo slots equipped, so +2-6 damage from the red arms or adding more cheap boosts to my deck with the breaker head do more for me, the yellows i’d run if my gameplan was only get to 4 evos asap and send terminator tanks.

    I really love this decklist. For Kano matchup, i assume just doing induction chamber plan with AB 3? . I also saw the boost list vs Kano but Changing the entire deck just for Kano is not ideal. What do you reckon? How about Aggro matchup too?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 8 měsíci

      Thank you! And currently that is the plan, add in 2-3 induction chambers, play ab3, and try to balance throwing 4-10 damage a turn at them to make it harder for them to pitch stack while blocking a lot of their damage since we still play around 26 blues in the deck so using ab 3 each turn isn't too hard making their tempo gameplan harder. And the boost list is me debating if for some matchups like aggro and kano I just need to commit harder to being aggressive or not, at the very least I'm debating adding in teklo foundry heart to this list to compensate 1 blue hands into kano and give extra blocking equipment into fai. Right now fai and katsu are the only aggro decks that I continuously have trouble with, the pulsewave harpoons and protocols help into azalea and the ninjas though. Agressive brutes it depends on if they draw their bloodrush power turns earlier and I draw evos to help with blocking cause without a power turn they;re too slow even as an aggro deck to stop me from playing singularity. Dash I/O and Aggro Dash IE aren't too bad, its pretty much on the dash io's side to get through our blocking but the fact that we throw damage back helps, and I haven;t faced an aggressive dash ie in a while but like all mechs be careful of t-bones but it shouldn't be the worst matchup.

    how do you think teklovossen is positioned in the meta? can he do it if played well or does he have too many negative mu?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 8 měsíci

      So I think he's not as bad as people think he is, but he could be positioned better. So his primary negative matchups are dromai and fai, a lot of other matchups are either favoured or pretty even. Some matchups that I find are just really favoured though are assassin, bravo, and usually boltyn. It depends on what you expect meta wise but if the meta becomes very warrior guardian heavy I think that he'll be very well positioned, for the control and boost variants of teklovossen.

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 8 měsíci

      so against assassin its pretty good since they don't actually threaten a lot of damage, arakni and uzuri both play a decent number of generic attacks, so you need to either make sure they aren't on shred or block only generic attacks with your equipped evos, and while doing so since they threaten less damage you have time to set up 4 evos and have a healthy second cycle of tank for 9 overpower every turn or singularity.

    Your list is very interesting, would be nice a deck tech video where you explain in which matchups and why you play instant evo or when you switch weapon for exemple

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you!! I've been toying with a few lists actually, but once I kinda settle on one more than the others I'd definitely do a deck tech or maybe even vod reviews, also haven't bothered to set up my mic yet... also on the weapon at least pistol has the advantage of it just costs 1 resource to deal 2 damage from turn 1 to turn 20 while leveler is not a weapon turn 1 and is only better than pistol once you have 3-4 evos equipped, so depending on how much you want to lean into evos as your gameplan I feel that either can be good. if you prioritize evos more highly I'd maybe go leveler, if less so or you don't rush to equip them then maybe pistol, still deciding though.

    What a comeback! ^^ Sometimes when it works, it works :D What Teklo do you prefer? This one or the one from your match against azalea?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you!! And its pretty consistent if you can manage to avoid them banishing singularity vs arakni cause of how low their average damage output is. So far I prefer more boost oriented versions, as a mech your entire deck already blocks 3 so you never really have issues blocking, you just get a better ability to pivot between attacking and blocking when every card you have also has go again, and you also get to cycle through your deck faster when boosting to dig for evos. I'm trying out a few new ideas on lists though changing up the focus on the deck with regards to boost

    This hero is so interesting... I also want to build this deck but wasn't sure of it. But you might pull me over the final line... This game had such a great build-up. Slowly getting your armor and pitching the tanks. The moment you can turn and use these terminator tanks... You turned it over in the end and reeled in the win :o

      What's your take on it?

    • @Zandrenel
      @Zandrenel Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you!!@@kazaky178 And the deck is really fun so far, a lot of its good matchups are fair decks like bravo, uzuri, warriors, it sometimes struggles into decks like ninja or dromai, but those can be won with enough tech for them, the deck focuses on just trying to leak damage early and pitching your tanks or war machines next to blues so that you can draw them in playable hands second cycle, using evos to basically gain 5 life each is really powerful on its own, but it sometimes balances out with the fact you need to take some damage to play out an evo. People have also been dwelling between using boost cards or not in teklovossen decks, my take for that is that boost is much more flexible a mechanic and helps you get to the end game state a lot faster. This game I saw singularity pretty early, what that meant was that I could pitch it and then count down my deck size until I drew it, also meant I could use boost as much as I wanted to accelerate through my pitch and threaten more damage and hope to banish evos off the top to get up to 4 evos faster. With that as my gameplan I just wanted to get his health low enough that singularity or tanks would finish him off and try taking less damage if I could myself. And teklo being a mechanologist you can just build the deck with 60 cards that block 3 and say boost letting you pivot between blocking every turn to actually attacking back which is what I intended to do this game. He's a really fun hero and you always have a lot to think about with him!
