I did the math the other day. If you can get 2.5M per hour for a moneymaker (I use Colosseum wave 1), the following rates are for construction with no starting cash. Oak- 175K XP per hour Teak- 160K XP per hour Mahogany- 120K XP per hour So if you have to make the money and do the skill, oak planks are the fastest option. Higher GP per hour methods can close the gap, but even a 6M GP per hour makes teak and oak break even at 300K XP per hour, and mahogany is only 260K XP per hour.

I think it's stupid. Normal people will only engage with it for a few weeks, maybe a couple of months. After that it'll strictly be used for even more gimmick modes by content creators before it eventually dies off and they remove it entirely. It's a waste of dev time. People are way too focused on efficiency and progress to actually play something like this long term.

This is a horrible take. "It doesn't need to be on Oldschool Runescape." It literally isn't. Jagex aren't making modded servers, they are giving the community the ability to make them through official avenues. You literally tell people to go play on private servers instead (3:39). Which is exactly what this update is but officially supported therefore less likely to get your personal information phished. Jagex is literally telling the community "hey you got some ideas, go make em we approve!" And you're mad. "Maybe I'm overexaggerating this" understatement of the year.

The only concern I can see is it splitting up the playerbase, but I feel this could be another revenue stream for Jagex and draw people into the game that maybe don't want the insane grind that is the live game. Also the possibilities of really fun custom game modes is exciting to me, personally.

This is a L take. You mention new players a lot.. how is this 150% boost going to help new player bob run to cows when he's new and has no money. Something definitely needs to be done about agility.. but having people zoom around in Old School Runescape is not it. Keep that in RS3.

I strongly disagree here. Private servers bring in so many positives while not affecting the official servers. Similar to games like ark survival they provide a game mode great for practicing certain things risk free or being a server where you can host clan events/challenges that were nearly impossible to set up on official servers.

<< OG player here from 2005 . I came back for Deadman Mode and played until 3rd DMM season. What i was dissapoitned about OSRS is was a power creep and unbalanced gear progression and bad descisions on direction. And Since Community Private server "Zanaris" was annouced i'm coming back to OSRS. I feel like we will finaly be able to play Runescape the way we want, and not be forced into certain play. OSRS shines in engaging combat gameplay and a completely garbage in repetitive gameplay loop

I think all their new stuff is trash. There is already SO MUCH in this game. The people who are voting on new content are just mid level players who haven't got a single 99. Anyone at or near end game knows that there is more to do than a lifetime of playing. I wish they would quit messing with OSRS. I think they just hired too many people at JAGEX and now they're all trying to seem usefull and keep their jobs when the community doesn't want any of the change.

Run energy isn't shit, training agility is, so no, I don't like this suggestion, training agility is the main reason I purchased membership in the first place, a few years ago, and I've enjoyed the game a lot... I don't think a new player having to "walk back to Lumbridge" is really going to send them away...

I agree with you, modding servers seems horrible for the player base. If people can spawn themselves with the best gear and stats and just play the newest content.

RS3 devs explained several times that increasing run speed is not feasible for technical reasons, so I'm pretty sure the same applies to OSRS. And this is talking about the 50%. A 10% would, ironically, be even more impossible. Walking is 1 tile per tick, running is 2 tiles per tick. A +50% to running would be 3 tiles per tick, but a +10% would simply not fit into an integer amount of tiles per tick.

Being able to run 3 tiles per gametick will ruin speed combat achievements in all 3 raids because theres alot of running, its also gonna break alot of other pvm encounters where the content is designed around u only being able to move 2 tiles per gametick. Once you get to endgame pvm you will see it.

The problem with agility is just that leveling agility doesnt do a whole lot for run energy, having 99 agility should solve most of your running needs but it doesnt.

With how movement works in this game, for implementing your idea they would need to remake the whole run system. Even RS3 with eoc still uses this old movement system. The only thing they have is the option to rest.

This is easily one of the worst takes on agility I have ever listened to. If you think that 150% movement speed would not be absolutely game breaking, you are definitely not experienced enough to be offering suggestions.

"You want a privite server go play one" And there is the the entire point of the update it is for people who want to host a privite server without the risk of getting shut down, It generates more income for jagex from those people too, This update is not for you but it is also not going to in any way effect you so just think of it as a nothing update. Honestly the sheer amount of ironmen only QoL updates in the game is something more to get annoyed with as that is taking dev time to do that could otherwise be spent on other things, ironmen decided to play like that and they should not get any QoL because of it, it comes with the limitations. Also as for the "Real wrold trading being allowed" ... Erm bonds are a thing RWT is already in the game and the game is already a P2W mess because of it.

the way the speed works now is 1 tile per tick for walk, 2 for run, so you couldn't really do 10% speed think - maybe it can take adrenaline charges and uses them at a half rate so its worth it to wear + saved inventory ? i do like the infinite run though, very annoying mechanic
