Shenzhen Pingshan Art Museum is situated on the boundary of an urban spatial transitioning - to the west, a high density neighborhood for typical urban living; to the east, a large scale urban park. The Art Museum is arranged along the north-south direction, parallel to the border on this long block In terms of the spatial arrangement on site, we fragmented the architectural volume to distribut...

A refined remodel and massive addition in an area that's treated with neglect. A powerful statement, celebrating what's special about the bay and it's people.

Very cool. I love the top section. The location is great and this house really honors it.

Very elegant. A spiritual element about its basic form. Not a friendly place though, an empty place. Walled off from its surroundings. I can't see a wedding here but maybe a memorial service?

Nice sculptural qualities to the whole house. I like the exterior grey wall textures that link it to the neighborhood. The interior though is missing something. Maybe the introduction of some natural grey concrete or stained weather grey wood, or some recycled element would add needed variety to the white walls and wood paneling of the interior. The house doesn't feel "occupied". What is the suggested function of the most exciting room in the house? A dance or artist's studio? With the right comfortable seating, it could be an area for entertaining? Personality and life are missing.

Beautiful contrasts between new and old. Elegant textures and patterns greatly increase visual interest. A poetic combination of architectural experiences.

Horrible. This may look cool to wealthy investors from Beijing, Shenzhen or abroad, but soulless projects like these are destroying Yangshuo. Completely out of touch with the spirit of the town. And we all know what happens to these projects when the real estate boom is over. Shame on you for destroying one of the most beautiful places in China in the name of profit.

@@Stocking_Knight It was an old fashioned sugar mill, the brick building in 0:37. Not sure what sort of pollution you're thinking of. And it had already closed down long before they started pouring concrete all over the place. It's the massive growth in tourism that causes so much pollution in YS. Have you ever been there? It used to be a clean and beautiful town, very rural, there weren't really factories there or anything. It's not Guangdong. Now even the countryside is full of hotels and the river is full of trash. During some holidays, you can barely walk down the streets so many tourists flood the place. None of them respect the local culture or care about preserving the nature. Neither do developers like this one. It's all about money.

Love seeing industrial buildings converted into living spaces. I like the look it retains with some of the older battle scars outside, with updates. Gives a place character and makes it kind of unique to me. This place looks absolutely stunning. Great job, thanks for posting.
