I choose to play with the journal mod for my crafting and survival skills just because it's how I like to play. During a moment of carelessness for a file I lasted many, many weeks on I ended up getting lacerated by a zombie and suffice to say I lost the infection lottery. Despite the length I played I somehow never found any glue to make my journal so I was on a time limit to visit the warehouse. In an attempt to pull masses of zombies away from the place I somehow made the surrounding population worse. I was left with no choice but to try to sneak in, of course unsuccessfully. I ended up having to kill about 150 zombies to get at the crates inside. I don't know the full effects of the zombification (because I usually end early if it happens) but it seemed like despite the amount of combat my character was pushing through she wasn't getting hungry or tired at all. It's like she was pushing through pure adrenaline knowing she had one last chance to pass on her legacy to the next person. End of the story I did end up getting some glue but sadly I felt the need to start over because I realized that my settings for the journal also remembered passives, melee and firearms and I didn't like that because there's no suspension of disbelief that cuts it for passing that on through a journal... But ever since I always associated this song with that last stand and how epic an experience it felt. Probably the greatest sense of satisfaction I've felt in this game that she overcame the odds and fulfilled her final goal.

Maybe, just maybe, We can win this.

My most recent character got infected (it wasn't even a proper bite, just a laceration, but I knew it was over when she started getting hot and anxious), she spent her last days fortifying the Muldraugh medical house, and afterwards, she walked into the night to search for a bleach bottle and die under her own turns, no such luck, and instead of dying alone in a maintenance room from the pancake place, she tried to walk home (the big warehouse) and was a block away when she finally zombified to this music 😢
