Браво юнаци...
it reminds me of the evh frankie guitar
These are $400 new?
It was 300 euro from Thomann more than a year ago...
I saw this guitar when it was released and I wanted it. I bought it new for 269 € and had similar issues like you guys: Non polished frets, painting issues, some sharp fret edges, a bit weird with the bridge.....BUT I wanted a guitar which was a suitable as an EVH-Frankenstrat base and man, it was. I must say that I'm happy to have my own guitar workshop and some solid skills regarding guitar setups and so on, because without, I would've had to return the guitar. For a beginner or someone who can't help himself setting up his guitar or leveling / crowning frets, etc., this would've become a disaster. For me, it was around three hours of work and damn, do i love that guitar ever since. I even got a 70 Euro refund from the seller because of the above mentioned flaws. So I paid 199 Euros for it and I can't say that I've ever made a better bargain when it comes to buying a guitar. It's my main guitar, it does the job very well and I wouldn't ever get rid of it now :)
Well, I liked the body, the weight and the neck. But the biggest problem was the high action, which couldn't be lowered to a acceptable level...
@@stefanchernev4996 I know the issue of lowering the action on FR‘s. It sucks because you can only shim the neck. Mine has not so high action actually but I secured the floating bridge with a coin.
Im sorry but this sound is stupid
does the guitar have a good floyd rose?
Not really. Checkout my review in my channel...
Do you have this lens ! If yes or no please inform Its 9 years ego's video 😊📸
Oh, no, sold it ages ago. It is too big and too heavy... :) There are better modern solutions...
The guitar arrived, here are my first day impressions: EDIT: the whammy is not usable at all, the springs are hitting the cavity inside where the trem block is, when you make a dive (small one) the springs are curving around on the edge of the spring cavity and the trem block cavity, what a huge mess... The problem is someone installed a stud plate like in old floyd rose equiped guitars which pushes the tremolo plate up, but this causes the spring get caught in the edge of the cavity. They sold me the guitar as new and on the stock photos there is no stud plate installed. - brought it brand new for 290EUR - arrived in very good condition no finish flaws, no dents, nothing loose, well expect for one whammy spring in the back - head: cheap but functioning tuners, string retainer bar screwed in like a madman, pieces of wood sticking out next to the screws just like yours in the video, it is just cosmetic, trussrod adjustment hole also looks a bit rough - NUT, a very important part which they often mess up, lucky not this time, position and hight are perfect, also the whole thing is made of some kind of metal that magnets attach to, I know there are steel (stainless steel) types that are not magnetic, however using a magnet is a very quick and informative way to check painted metal parts on a guitar, I'm very happy with the nut - neck: very thin satin finish, it looks unfinished to me, which is a good thing, I like my neck natural and oiled up, usually with tung oil, here comes a flaw which I always look for the first in a guitar, the string placing is not the same on the E and e and the side of the fretboard, but it is only a 0.5 mm which can be corrected by loosing the neck screws and using some force very carefully as this ends up many times with a neck pocket crack - frets: they are not polished at all, feels like a cheap 90-100 EUR guitar and they are very very vintage, they are not medium tall at all, but again a very good point they are in level, I will probably just do a polish at the first string change then play 5000 hours to kill the frets and replace them with stainless jumbo - body, this is still my favorite strat body of all time, the most comfortable strat shape there is, love it since my G100 - electronics, well they are functioning, pickup switch feels very cheap, string pacing on the bridge humbucker is totally off, neck sound a bit muddy, I will probably see if the hotrails are 4 wire pickups or not and try to connect the neck pickup coils in parallel, which will be still humbucking but a bit more single coily - biggest WTF is the bridge..., the whole purpose of a non recessed floyd is that you deck it, make it more stable for bends (unison bends) but still have the divebomb ability, but NO, this bridge has a 2-3mm plate under it so it pushes the bridge into floating..., I honestly do not know if I can correct this or not, I will probably have to sand down the neck joint 2-3mm take out this plate, sounds a bit too much, probably will just use as it is. My main problem with floating bridges are that I heat with wood XD that means the room temps are always changing depending on the fire in the furnace, I mean most floyds are stable once you tune it they will stay in tune until temps are changing 2-3 degrees then you have to retune it... ANYWAY did some magnet test here also: saddles and baseplate are not steel..., but the knife edges are, this is a very common thing nowadays I first saw it on my Ibanez RG350 which had a new edge 2, so the base plate of the whammy is just a softer alloy, but there are two small pieces of hard steel which contacts the bridge hight adjusting screws, not the best thing ever, I will have to stress it some more with proper strings to see the performance. One more thing the bar has a screw in collar, so it is not a push in, which I hate, usually you spend more time tightening that collar than using the damn thing, but this one feels so rough that the collar actually stays tight after bar usages, good for now. - small thing: the two screws that are holding the spring plate in the back cavity have threads on them up until they heads, man this is such a basic nono, the cheapest manufacturers using screws which are not fully threaded so the spring plate can move freely and return to its position after whammy use, this has to be changed, just 2 screws, but man who on earth approved this... Overall impressions: looks nice, has some cheap parts (electronics, bridge, FRETS), I hope I can move the neck by a hair and hopefully I can deck the bridge if I do not want it to float. Value: not worth the price, Corts are usually very reasonable priced, but this guitar should cost 220-230EUR max. They could make this a better deal with quality stainless steel frets (which some of they 300EUR guitars have!) or a better and NON floating floyd. Anyway I wanted a white, maple neck, non floating floyd strat which is not an Adrian Smith Jackson (which has old school neckheel joint and more old school truss rod adjustment), maybe I should have looked for a quality charvel, but non recessed floyds are very uncommon these days so I would say this cort will stay, it hit the minimum bar for me, but would only recommend it used around 150EUR max.
So you have similar problems like me...
@@stefanchernev4996 I did some research, and the first series of the G250FR did not had this stud plate, but than they had a lot of problems with the studs breaking the wood and fall into the bridge pickup cavity, so they figured to add this stud plate which helps keeping the studs in place but they did not think that with the added height they will need a longer tremblock to keep the bridge springs move freely. I do not understand how Cort could mess up the design this bad and then they fix was just another failure, at least they discontinued the G250FR.
@@TheDarkmore Well, I didn't know, that they discontinued it... It lasted an year?... But, look - I've always try to buy the top of the line of their products, for that price, maybe it is better to go for a Harley Benton... And from where did you get the information from your research?
@@stefanchernev4996 The cortguitars site is quite empty right now, maybe they are "making space" for new 2022 models, but the G250FR is not listed on they website anymore. I just asked around at local resellers and one of them was kind enough to give me the full story, yes they had to return multiple G250FRs because the fist models all caved in (=studs broke the wood wall) and after that the guitar was not usable with the stud plate solution, so did not order anymore and would not recommend for buyers to order one. Harley Benton is a whole different story I had one when they started maybe in 2005ish and then one when they went more mainstream with they pro series models, to summarize my experience with them, the specs and hardware are very good, but the quality control and the overall quality of the wood (not speaking about ecstatic's or tonewood, just plain structure strength) is very hit and miss, if you order one it is literary a coin flip.
@@TheDarkmore Maybe the reason because the cort website is always missing a lot of guitars is because they only feature the current lineup of the current year, my sister bought me a cort g110 for my 14th birthday which was my first guitar so i looked up the brand's website and i couldn't find my g110 on the list so i thought that mine was fake lol (it was bought on a legit store btw) but when you search for the specific model you can see a link for it which is wierd because it's not listed on the actual website but if you search for the specific model it will show up just like the cort x250 which i plan on buying next year. anyway i got a little off topic but here's the specific quote on their FAQ about why you can't see some of the guitars on their website The current Cort website only features the model lineup of this year. Models that are designed for domestic sales in a certain country, specially designed spot models, or models that have been discontinued are not listed on the website. If you can't find your model on the website, please contact the authorized Cort dealer or Cort distributor in your country.
Just ordered this I always wanted a floyd without body recess. How were the frets? Are they polished or will they grind the strings in the beginning?
Oh, the frets weren't leveled at all... But they were OK, not polished...
@@stefanchernev4996 Well I'm kind a used to level my frets, it also had to been done on my ibanez rg350..., I hate crowning, profiling them, I hope it will not need that much leveling that I will have to recrown every fret. Could you please check the locking nut and bridge saddles with a magnet if they are made of something durable, thx! :-)
@@TheDarkmore I sold it, because the action was very high and it couldn't be lowered by luthiere.
@@stefanchernev4996 Oh, OK, you could not lower the bridge any more? In this case just shimm the neck, anyway I hope I will have more luck with mine, if not I will send it beck rightaway. Thank you for the infos!

SC550 with EMGs is cleaner sounding. Both nice guitars
Live the Cort has more sustain and resonance. It also has more drive from the pickups and more "open" sound. The HB has a thicker tone. But that is mine subjective observation.

That oil is because of the rails being iron for conduction and a ceramic bar magnet being the actual magnet underneath it. They rust otherwise.
Great guitar and video, thank you.👍
Good review!!!!😉👍
There are far better than mine... :)
Recently got a SC-550 (not the "plus", because I don't like EMGs, or rather, I don't like the battery that they require), and can confirm it's a very very nice guitar period. Very nice for the price, but also just very nice even ignoring the price. I got a "B-stock" guitar, to save a few bucks, and after inspecting it and having it for awhile, I still cannot tell why it was a B-stock. I suppose it was a B-stock because someone ordered it and returned it for some reason, but I cannot find any real defect. I find that I prefer my $270 HB SC-550 to my Gibson Les Paul Studio that I paid $900 for 25 years ago. Truly we are living in a golden age of inexpensive but still good guitar gear.
Thank you for your comment. About the battery - it is not a problem. I own another guitar with EMGs and the battery is more than a year old and it is still OK. :)
@@stefanchernev4996 Sure, if you remember to take the cable out of the guitar. I've had a guitar with EMGs, and it always ended with a dead battery. Been there, done that. And anyway there are plenty of passive pickups I like as much or better than EMGs.
@@StephenCameron Well, I always detach the cable, because I everytime I have to put the guitar away. But my experience is quite limited.
@@kimhoffmannandersen5477 Yeah... I have about 20 guitars. Somehow the one with EMGs always ends with a dead battery. There's nothing wrong with passive pickups. EMGs solve a problem that doesn't exist, and require a battery to do so.
Also, I've been playing guitar for 30 years. So 2 years is not a long time. 2 years? Try 30.

Nice video. Nice Guitar. I think the EMG pickups sound trebly and sterile, they have no warmth or harmonic content. I’m sure they’re good pickups in a way but they don’t deliver a Les Paul Vintage tone, I don’t think they really sound like a Les Paul at all, they have a generic sound. A bargain for the price but not for me. I’ve heard these on a few Channels and they sound the same nothing like a Les Paul. If you heard this blindfolded you’d think it was a Yamaha Pacifica but they actually sound better. You did a good job with the review by the way, I wouldn’t personally have these pickups in a Les Paul style Guitar if I wanted to actually sound like a Les Paul. Harley Benton should just have put some top quality PAF style pickups in this, not these. There’s plenty available at reasonable prices, they just opted for the EMG name. You need to carry on with your reviews, don’t let my negative remarks put you off, they’re not aimed at you but these lousy pickups. If you want the woman tone just turn your tone nob almost right down on the neck pickup on a guitar with decent PAF’s on, simples.
Thank you very much for the comment! I still think that my try for a review sucks, but it doesn't matter... I know this opinion about the sterility of the EMGs, but I am not knowledgeable enough to comment. If you have some good examples of a true PAF tone, please be so kind to share them! :) Also, check my new video, I have even more sound samples! Cheers!
@@stefanchernev4996 you could listen to some CZcams vids of original Gibson Les Pauls from around the 58, 59, up to 60’s, you will get the sound what makes the tone of original PAF so desirable. Your stuff doesn’t suck, I’ve seen far far worse. Carry on you will improve.
These EMG's Bridge pups are PAFs. I hated the ceramic 80 series EMG's, I mean to me not versatile at all, made for metal that's about it. But these are retroactives Fat 55s.. They sound incredible. I was actually very surprised as to how classic they sound. Matter of fact I ordered a set from EMG to install in another guitar of mine. And I've been a Dimarzio/Seymour guy since the 80s. And I'm fastly falling in love w/ these 55's.

Hello, thanks for the video, you play the guitar well! How are you going to solve the switch problem on the SC 550 PLUS? Have you returned some of the money for this defect?
Thank you, but I am not good as a player! The switch problem disappeared by itself and for a week has not reappeared. The hassle with returning the guitar is too much and if it becomes too much of a problem, I will bring it to a luthiere. That is not something that bothers me too much, after all problems could be found in guitars that are six times more expensive...

@@emjay3066 I don't know. What if they say, that it is something that I've done? :)))
@@stefanchernev4996 Slightly oxydised contacts will clean themselves with simple usage and only return if the switch is left unused in certain humidity conditions. Then it will clean itself again. The same applies to scratchy pots. Often it's enough to tun them a few times. You have a three years warranty so you can wait a while. If it gets worse, then do claim a replacement switch.
Thank you for review! Actually information about EMG pickups was quiet unexpected ) What do you think is better, Cort CR-300 or this guitar, regardless of the price?
I haven't tested the Cort CR-300, although a couple of times I was about to purchase it. I love Corts. But this HB kills it in ter,ms of price and specs. :) My 2 cents...
