Review: The Cheapest Video Lens Nobody's Ever Heard Of
BTW The whole video was shot on this cheap lens. I got this lens for free as an accessory and decided to test it out on my Canon R6. It's really cheap, but I kind of like it.

Recently I got into walking marathons from a challenge and I decided to test my camera gear. I'm doing this every month. On this one, I brought just the Canon R6 Mark I with the RF 16mm and the RF50mm. I also brought the DJI mini 3 pro drone. I shot mostly everything handheld at 120fps. Lot of B Roll. Little talk. Enjoy!

Brilliant and Well done video !!!
As an Air Note 3 user I was noping the whole video. Books in pdf only - nope. I gotta buy a magnetic pen separately - nope, no export - nope, subscription - HELL NAW
The best pen replacement is the "Staedler Noris Jumbo" pen. The "Staedler Mars Lumograph Digital" is also good. Both have NO magnet, but erasers on the top. But, they are the best choice.
Walmart have them for $1600 brand new
20mgpxels works perfectly fine, I use the eos R and the 6D and that 6d still slaps
No epub reading?!!
Still overheating even with new fan.
Don’t film in a sauna room then
I'm so tempted. In my country it's on sale at the moment for 999 EURos....
Which country? …and is it still on sale?
@@snygg-johan9958 nah mate, this was a one day flash sale in Switzerland back in June 😉
sample footage?
The whole video is sample footage except for the clips that show the actual lens. 👍🏼
This is a cool find, getting a snoot levels up your lighting and video game. Plus you get a free EF 50mm f1.7 for free! More than sharp enough for up to 6k work
Unfortunately they took it away the option to buy it without the pen, and raised the price! I had finally managed to get $300 to buy it but when I went to go buy it I got confronted with that 400+ dollar tag, such a shame it was already too expensive!
Thank you! 💪🏽
They've already changed their website to screw people out of buying a reasonably priced refurbished product. 🤣
I've owned the Rebel, 5DII and III, 1DII to 1DIV and switched to the R6. I love it ! It's the best camera I owned. Only drawback is the shorter battery life but I can still use the batteries of my 5DIII.
Nice! The R6 is great. Once you get your hands on the R5 there’s no going back though.
Man just get to the fucking point.
Great to see a lefty using this, i want to buy one and was wondering if the manh could be moved to the other side.
Great video, really enjoyed your perspective on the Remarkable 2! One thing of note, not sure if someone else mentioned it in a comment, but you can get the integration for the Remarkable 2 for access to your Google drive. You can export your files there and bring files down. It's handy! Thanks again for the video!
Once you import from google drive and mark up the doc, it will show back in the drive as a pdf. Not as useful for some items but if you need signatures on paper work without a printer is okay.
R6 for events, R5 product. Why? Often overlooked is the 20 mp sensor of the R6 is better for event shooters, corporate, weddings and the like because when you need to shoot a thousand or more photos, processing those photos is much faster and less processor intensive. Not to mention storage. Especially if you’re doing multiple events in a weekend! Additionally the lower pixel density means larger photons on the sensor = better in low light, as events tend to be. I’ve gotten not just usable, but clean photos at iso 12800. It’s magic. Of course your exposure needs to be spot on, at that iso, because you don’t want to be trying to push your shadows at all. Now the R5 it lives in the commercial and product category, it was built for that. When you need extreme detail and IQ, that’s your jam. But those photographers are only shooting 50-100 photos per job, usually. Of course there are exceptions like if you’re shooting an entire catalog or portfolio. Hopefully you’re also charging accordingly. My point is both cameras are fantastic.. you just have to decide what kind of shooting you’re doing most and select the model right for you. How many of us just want to get the most features, most megapixels most bells and whistles for the least amount of money, instead of giving careful consideration to what is the right camera for your needs? Then dising on the camera they chose when it doesn’t live up to their expectations. Of course, I didn’t mentioned sports and wildlife shooting but again it comes down to choosing the camera that is going to fit best within your shooting scenario. That’s where experience matters, and that’s a whole other topic.
useless shit
Yeah, I ordered my reMark last week (refurb cause WHO is gonna pay full price!) I got my Kindle refurbished to for like $80 way back when and It's still good! I get a $30 pen (though I have a wacom pad (for digital art, lets hope I can use those nibs) If the nibs fit, I saved myself some more there cause I don't do digital art as much. I go through phases, D. Art, Physical art, writing, them reading. filming.. 24/7 isn't enough to do everything a person wants to do. 8hrs spent at work and another 8 hrs spent at a job. UGH! Mean while my cat and dog is living the life at home looking out the window, licking and scratching.
Yeah, I know what you mean about not wanting to take notes on your phone. When I was in the Army I would tell my supervisor "I am taking notes, please don't think I am being disrespectful." I wasn't trying to get smoked! (push ups)
Can you convert your kindle books into pdf?
You can find the pdf versions and load them into Remarkable
Any idea when Remarkable 3 will be out?
Nobody knows but it is 4 years old now and showing it's age, no automatic wake/sleep when you open the case, resolution is pretty low, the bottom chin is quite large, the performance is quite poor - with all this said I still love mine and use it daily. Should something happen to it, I will repurchase another one immediately :)
Thank you for saving me several hundred dollars. ❤
Why do you say you're saving "half" when a refurbished tablet is literally only $20 cheaper?
My thoughts exactly...
Youre right. I got confused when making the video. You really only save on the accessories.
@@enristory No worries
@@enristory Indeed and after trying a few different cases and pens from third parties I did end up buying the original reMarkable ones which are way nicer. It's not a cheap device with the accessories, but it's the one I keep going back to. I also have a Kindle Scribe and an iPad Air but the reMarkable is the one that really helps me focus and think.
@@DigiDriftZone agreed. Most times you pay for what you get; I havent used the remarkable accessories but I bet theyre better quality. I my case, Im still satisfied with a cheap pen and case and would rather spend $$ on a good camera or lens. Which I probably don't even need LOL
Damn, son, great vid. I think I'm going to buy one.
Это полное дерьмо, не обманывай людей. В r6 программное ограничение. В минус 30 она столько же времени снимает как и в жару

Nice video !
Thanks!
Outstanding video, Enrique! You have a remarkable talent for storytelling through your videos. Thank you for extending the invitation, Chamo! 😎
You made the whole walk easier my friend! Great company 👊🏼
What makes this even more extraordinary is that you weren't just walking, you were actually working the whole time, figuring out where to shoot, stopping to shoot, re-shoot, etc. Way to go!
Thanks for noticing that! 😝👊🏼✅
I've shot the R6 since it came out in August 2020. I've since sold off my 1Dx2 and bought a second one. Had struggles nailing the AF in low light as the R6 lacks the ability to trigger the AF assist beam on my camera in low light, but switching over to native RF lenses solved the AF issues (was previously shooting with EF lenses with the adapter. Havent seen the need to get the mk2 for now as I shoot mainly stills.
Enrique and Roxy proud of you!....Dig Deep!
Way to go Enrique and Roxy!!
Thank you Joel! We are lucky to know you!! We’ve both grown personally thanks to your programs. 💯✅
I do not use video. I still have an older Nikon DSLR with some fast medium zooms and a few primes. However, I moved to the Canon R5 just over a year ago. I am not residing in WY and use my 100-500mm for mainly horses, wildlife and far off old buildings and windmills. I know crazy! I have a 15-35mm that I purchased used I like for shooting weather, clouds and landscapes when I feel the need plus I have the 24-105mm. The thing I don't like is if I have to change lenses in a hurry if I have the 15-35 on the R5 and then a antelope shows or a hawk or meadowlark I spot on a fence line. I was thinking of keeping the 100-500 on the R5 for the crop factor and purchasing a used R5 or R6 for the landscape and sky/storm shots. Not sure which way to go. I use the Nikons when the weather is challenging and taking street scenes in Cheyenne. I just can't sell my beloved, old Nikon set up.
If you need the high resolution, I highly recommend the R5. It’s really handy and I find myself reaching for it every time over R6. But if you are on a budget, there are older, high megapixel cameras that you can buy used and will work just as well. The 42 MP Sony A7RII is around $1000-$1200
A 10 mb chip is enough for the front cover of Vogue!
How often you really use it will drastically affect how long you can go between charging. They claim 2 weeks on the website. No way. I use mine throughout the day (not every once and a while) and turn if off at night when I'm not using it to save the battery. I'm good for 4 1/2 days. Also, don't charge with a wall charger unless it's one that limits the current, or it further reduces battery life.
That makes sense. I don’t use nearly that often. I think I’m going on week 3 or 4 now again without a charge. Still at 60%
@gregc3255 could u recommend me a suitable charger on Amazon?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience with these groups! I had never considered this previously.
Glad I could offer a new perspective! 👊🏼💯
Do you have link to the pen

I currently own the R6M2 and love it. If I had owned the original R6, i would not necessarily recommend upgrading to the M2 unless shooting video with no recording time limit is important. I am considering getting the R5 though 🤔 would be nice having both bodies
Yes. I have 2 R6's and an R5. When I want the best shot possible I reach for the R5 for the 45MP and uncropped 4K video. Also nice to have multiple bodies and not have to change lenses all the time.
Great stuff here. I've been giving serious thought of adding a mirrorless to my arsenal of DSLRs, and I'm really leaning towards the R6, or possibly the R6 Mk 2. Thanks for posting!
Glad it was helpful! Save with the R6. You can also buy the R5 used for a good price.
Great video. I believe it supports EPUB in addition to PDF
ah thanks. That's true.
Great commentary on the R6. Good work in the examples, I love the R6! I have been using the R6 for over 2 years. I have the R6Mark 2 also but I go back to the original OG R6 bet it renders warmer colors. I shoot weddings why pay more. The specs are not important
True. Only we see the subtleties sometimes. It's our curse as creators 😄
Where is a test ? It’s scam
You're right. Should've done a test. Next time
@@enristory good news
Definitely second this.. if you could make a video of the fan being used on your r6, that would be great!!!
Victim mentality 😂
@@dayeah765caoni3 you love scam 😂😂😂😂
Looks a little over exposed already. It's a poor dynamic range beast.
Love my ReMarkable, use it all day, every day, really like that does one job really well. Nice video (and nice to see left-handed mode works too).
Oh! I didn't even think about the left hand. Good Catch!
Hi! Could u tell me if when you type up a text in the Remarkable and save it can you go back and edit that text? I want one these types of devices to work on stories but that means a lot of editing. I returned Boox air3 because it won't let me edit.
How much did remarkable pay you for this ad? They've really increased their marketing budget the past month
What do you mean?
Why would they pay him to sponsor products that aren't theirs 😅
Great video, but the device itself is overpriced imo. Speaking in Euros, the want 349 for the Remarkable 2, so far so good, but then charging 130 for the pen and 159 (!) for the folio is horrendously high, even if you pick the polymer folio instead of the leather one it’s still 99 euros, all of this adds up quickly and when fully specced out, you end up with a 637 euro device that can’t do all that much aside from note taking and even though it’s specialised in that task, the screen holds it back from feeling like actually writing on paper since there’s a slight input lag which you won’t notice as much on an iPad Pro with it’s 120hz display. Overall I personally think that I prefer the iPad Pro since it’s so much more than just a digital notebook and for the price Remarkable is asking for their product you might as well just get an iPad Air or standard iPad with an Apple Pencil, at least if you want a device that can do more than just scribbling, except if you truly just want something to take notes and are fine with the imo unjustifiably high price, especially when it comes to the accessories. Like I said, great video though!
Yes, I agree. I think it’s definitely overpriced if you buy everything from reMarkable. Check out the accessories in the description. They work really well with the tablet. And are much cheaper. But just the fact that I can go two weeks without charging, it makes sense to me. Maybe we can have both. The reMarkable just for writing, and the iPad for fancier stuff.
@@enristory yeah, the battery life is definitely a fair point to make for an e-ink device, that's for sure.
