Wow, I've been reading all the wrong books. I thought Knuth, Dijkstra, Brooks, Aho, Ullman and Bentley were good choices. Now I learn that I should have been reading Alex Xu, Stanley Chiang and the others listed here... Good grief, get some perspective on who really matters in this field. If this is what FAANG engineers think is the top writing in CS there's some serious rot in those places. BTW, all the authors in my list will be recognized by most software engineers with only a last name, your list, not so much.

Dr. Tanenbaum's Distributed Systems book is excellent no doubt. Dr. Tanenbaum wrote MINIX operating system to discuss operating systems in his university courses, which is the operating system that Linux started from but diverged quickly near its inception due to an disagreement on micro or monolithic kernel implementation. Well know facts to be sure, but I just wanted to mention his contribution to OS's as well for those interested. Thanks for the great video and update.

I would just say that the the title should reflect that it is the top ten books for distributed systems engineers, while there are a lot of other books that would be higher placed if you are just targeting general engineers who don't mainly do distributed stuff.

You can connect it with a SIM card, it has a SIM card slot, so don’t need a phone. You also have a touchscreen you can input information via the screen. Do some more homework

Also, you can use the touchscreen keyboard. Though we also use our phone and speak on it. So are phones only used in private spaces? It was also presented by the company as a companion for your phone, not a replacement. Did you even watch the keynote? It doesn't seem so.

You do not need your phone to make it work. The R1 has a simcard slot for internet access.

JS is totally purely functional if you just forget that stuff is mutable by default, that theres global scope and global object, ability to generate side effects with almost any operation on objects (every variable type when operation causes a type conversion)
