Been following his story since 2018, back when the only video I could find on him was him in a warehouse!
How should B2B or CPG companies structure their sales support, customer and retailer support departments when entering the DTC sales channel? I run Customer Operations, Contact Center and Service for both eComm and CPG. The company is still rooted in B2B/CPG sales and as eCOMM continues to grow even I wish I could break from sales and marketing and just run my own show. . I suggested moving the customer out of sales or marketing and make it a standalone division - a customer is a customer to me. My department is the glue between pre-sales (CPG) order management, and post order support for both CPG and DTC sales. I am either directly or indirectly involved in all customer touchpoints and the order to cash process. For example, I meet with supply chain and operations and I know how my fill rate and on-time delivery will affect both sales groups. Do you have any particular take on this? I see consumer and wholesaler split up as two different entities in many companies I've researched and my company just isn't there yet.
