The original X-Men trilogy and its sequels, unfortunately, were products of a time when studios were hesitant about making comic book films. As a result, they shied away from vibrant, colorful costumes and storylines that might have been too much for the mainstream audience then. They opted for an art direction that was more in line with the 2000s. Characters like Wolverine never sported his iconic suit, and entire storylines were reimagined to fit a more 'grounded' narrative. The line-up of First Class is very different from that of the comics. For one, Charles and Erik met around a decade before the formation of The X-Men. Both men met at a psychiatric hospital in Israel that treated Holocaust survivors. Sometime after this, Charles lost the ability to walk. Charles then formed the X-Men alongside his students Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Angel, and Beast; these five were his first class of Mutants. Beast is the only one to appear in this film as a member of the X-Men, but you'll meet the others in future films. Characters like Cyclops, Angel, Marvel Girl, and Iceman were simply too young in the 2000s films to be as active as X-Men during the 1960s within the timeline of the X-Men films. You'll recall Cyclops from X-Men Origins, teen who sabretooth captured at school. But yes X-Men First Class is the beginning of both X-Men timelines. The whole thing is very confusing but once you get through these films you'll understand. Going from Deadpool to then seeing his other origin in well... Origins. It's very confusing on how a character would have two differant origin stories in a series that from an outsider point of view is all shared connected series of movies. But it keeps explained moving forward. Summed up First Class is the beginning for both timelines.

That scene you refer to 6:55 was filmed on the set of X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019) and the footage was added Deadpool 2. Easy to do when you already have your actors in costume for a different movie.

Green Lantern is not part of the Marvel universe, and neither was that so-so movie. Green Lantern is part of the DC Universe.

Sebastian Stan is a handsome man, and a nice guy. I was a bit disappointed that Old Steve didn't hand off his shield to Bucky despite his protests at not being worthy of it and tell him to MAKE himself worthy of it. Missed opportunity there for something that everyone would have loved. I also feel that Sebastian could have easily played Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian. He has that earnest honesty and looks a good bit like an older Luke. He's being slept on as an actor.

Definitely the lowest of the X-Men film saga. Thank god Ryan Reynolds revived Deadpool in the other movies
