A Toast to Sally and Frank McNamara on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary
zhlédnutí 63Před 3 lety
On one of the hottest days in the history of Chico, California, Sally Byrne married Frank McNamara in a beautiful church without air conditioning to be followed by an elegant poolside reception well stocked with champagne. Frank's groomsmen, mostly ball players, "procured" most of the champagne for their joyride back to Sacramento. I try to retell the story in a toast.
1979 NLCS Game 2: The horrible game changing call
zhlédnutí 54KPřed 3 lety
After losing Game 1 in extra innings in a best of 5 series, the Reds were victimized by a terrible call by 2nd base umpire Frank Pulli in Game 2. In the 5th inning, Phil Garner's sinking line drive to right field was caught by Dave Collins; Pulli disagreed and refused to ask for help. Red's manager John McNamara argued fruitlessly and Garner would eventually score a run in another extra inning ...

Awesome. Job.
Hi Joe. Are you related to Johnny McNamara? I’m assuming so.
Hello Mr. McNamara ! I've been watching some of your episodes. I really like the home movies & photos. On my channel I show autographs that my Dad aquired in the 50's and do a short bio on the player & sometimes show old family photos. My Dad has a John McNamara autograph from 1956 & a few Seals ScoreBooks with John in them. I will do an episode on him someday, but because of his rich history it will take a lot of time to do his Show. I don't like to short change Legends & Heroes. Take care, Tom A.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Joe my Dad played for the Solons in 1954 .
very cool. what was your dad's last name?
Loved the video....... the only thing that made me a little sad was that I noticed it was published back in 2009, that would make this beautiful German Shepherd about 14 years old... our German Shepherd died in his sleep aged 15 years... not a Day goes by that we dont miss him !
Is this dog existing today?
Joe, was John your Dad? I'm a huge Reds fan, and he was let go much too soon.
Hi Greg, he was my uncle. and his happiest days were in Cincinnati. Dick Wagner said that his biggest regret in sports was firing John in 1982.
@@joemoxie Well, your Uncle had a tough chore replacing Sparky, but he was a great manager and won the fans over almost immediately! I was a kid, but I was a fan!
I've been raising an "import" GSD, raised in America, from "working stock" over in Europe. Somewhere near the old East Germany/Poland area. He's a year old now, black as coffee, and literally throws himself at passing vehicles (while leashed), apparently believing them to be stray sheep of some sort. Has anybody ever heard of such a thing? "Working Stock" should be a big red flag for anybody wanting a simple family dog. They are pretty wild.
I just learned about this recently. This means a lot to me. God bless, John McNamara. He was a kind and caring man and had to carry a heavy load later in life. He was a saint through and through. Thanks, Joe.
The great too
That's all we can do is make sure their short time on earth is full of love and adventures and walks
The years go by way too fast, so sad that we cannot have them 40 years instead of only 10 to14 if you're lucky, that time goes by so fast that before you know it they're gone
1:10 Poopy time! Haha! Adorable.
0:39 That was a nice jump to the extreme!

Like very much
👍👍👌👌
the moment the river was taking him away was really scary
As a Dodger fan I can say Willie Mays was the greatest center fielder I ever saw.
Koufax, Gibson & Drysdale -- the exact same pitchers named by Henry Aaron as his 3 toughest. If Both Aaron & Mays agree, I think we can make an accurate conclusion!
Aaron hit 17 homers off Drysdale, the most off any pitcher.
@@TRRyan - And why does Mays name Drysdale as one of toughest?
What beautifil dog.
Wow, I’m a huge GS fan starting as a teen in the 80s and in shows, and I NEVER heard of that great German Shepherd song!!!!
