Oh my goodness. In what aspect is the QA Queens Room not as good as QE, please tell us more.

You are so right. I bring double-suede sole practice dance shoes when I go to Princess. We do not get to dance much on a Princess cruise, not like on a Cunard cruise.

Thanks for watching Mark. We have seen dancers on Cunard wearing white tie and tails at least twice but we have not observed closely about how well they adhere to strict white tie dress code. I have not seen cruise lines requesting white tie dress code because that is very demanding for travelers. A cruise is really not the occasion for such formality (www.gentlemansgazette.com/white-tie-do-dont-dress-code-met-ball/). Even black tie dress code is only suggested by Cunard for gala evenings but not strictly required.

I've been on eight Cunard cruises and I've never seen passengers wearing white tie and tails (only the Maitre D!). The dress code has been relaxed recently, and I must say how it makes the men on the dance floor look a mess when they are not all wearing jackets.

Thank you for your comment, Keith. Most people would just sit and listen to this beautiful violin muisc. We did an unrehearsed dance from our hearts to the music using whatever dance skill that we know. Waltz is always our favorite, adding lots of turns and spinnings to make it nice. Believe me, it was the first time we got to dance to violin music!! Very enjoyable ....

Their rhythm technique was awful. Not even toe leads.

Thank you for your kind words Joan. Keep on dancing! The Los Angeles area has over a dozen places to dance with nice dance floors, even without going to Irvine or San Diego. The dancers travel among them freely. Plenty of good dancers and teachers around here, including national champions too.

So pleased that a fellow cruiser on this ship found our video. Indeed the dancing of the young brother and sister was delightful. We have several videos with them dancing. Princess has significantly improved their ballroom dancing venues postpandemic compared with even two years ago. Some of the venues on the Discovery Princess for Country Western dancing and rock/pop music dancing are also very enjoyable but not shown in the videos posted in our Yourtube channel.

Thanks for watching. They have some public cha cha cha lessons on board, also for other dances. Moreover, the dance teacher is available for private lessons for a fee.

Thanks for watching. Perhaps the gift of 6 strong musician groups on this cruise, plus hosts, was meant to complement the newly renovated Queens Room. Hopefully Cunard will do the same for all the Queens in the future. CU.

The new renovation of the QE Queens Room was such a gift to the dancers. New floor, lights, sound system and 6 strong bands.

Thanks for watching and subscribing. It is a lot of fun dancing the foxtrot. The American Foxtrot is simpler and focus on performing a series of figures, easier to learn. The International Foxtrot is more demanding to execute with proper styling.

On this cruise there were 3 male hosts and 1 female host for the section from Vancouver to Los Angeles, but not for the earlier Alaska portion. They and the dance teacher would have been pleased to dance with you, with your husband's permission for the first time of course. We think you can find out which Cunard cruise will provide hosts to dance with you before you book your next trip. You see them wearing name badges in our videos. Thanks for the kind words. Dancing like this happens each night 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm in the Queens Room and sometimes also in the Yacht club, a smaller room. The Queens Room has prerecorded sessions with a hidden DJ, and several band sessions each night. Some formal sessions on sea days are the Gala nights. You can see the dancing we did on the Discovery Princess in some of the videos at @tonymariadance in CZcams. The Discovery Princess mainly uses the large Piazza for dancing, its hard tile/marble floor is hard on the feet though the dance area is much larger than other Princess ships. Some Discovery bands are not experienced enough to dance to, while its violinists and house orchestra are good for dancing. The Cunard bands are 100% aimed for dancing with music that will move you. The dance sessions of the Discovery are also sporadic and easy to miss. Ballroom dancing is what Cunard does, and they do it very very well. The Queens Room observes the line of dance.

Thank you for your positive comment. We like the Queen Mary very much too. Perhaps because the QM is an older ship, Cunard offers more refinements onboard the QM than on the QE.

@@tonymariadance We also foxtrotted across the dancefloor on the grand old Queen Mary. Since it was built in the 1930s, it features the high style of Art Deco of it's day. The bar on deck is a delight. Of course we had a drink there too. Were you a passenger on the Queen Elizabeth?

We were passengers. We have cruised on all the Queens several times.

The three male and one female host came onboard in Vancouver, but were not present earlier during the cruise section from Vancouver to Alaska and back. Indeed they were very welcomed. Even the dance teacher was standing by and was announced that he can be requested by a lady to dance.
