I'm both nervous and excited, and related to you a lot in this video.     This lady is a ray of sunshine and all who encounter her are surely better for it. I encourage anyone interested in a deeper understanding of ADHD to watch some CZcams content from Dr. Gabor Mate. He is a Canadian with ADD himself and with a very important message for everyone that is both suffering from and blessed by their ADHD symptoms AND unique proficiencies. His book on the subject is called ‘Scattered Minds’.

      I actually can’t remember the name off the top of my head because I was only on it for a week before having to stop it due to more side effects 🙈 it wasn’t a brand name, it was very much a medical/scientific name. It was one of the ones recommended under the NICE guidelines (Scotland).

      I’m disgusted by the childish idiocy that would lead someone to publicly insult this lovely woman. I’m sure a lot of people have been helped by this material. As for her demeanour - it was so nice to start my day listening to her cheerful speech and seeing her smiles. The lady is differently abled and the insulting child that prompted my response has got to be the disabled one. Hopefully that person will become inattentive and distracted enough to move on. I’ll wager that she will be getting asked for a few more phone dates before long. A lot of us dream about having someone like her in our lives and about BEING more like her. Trolls drool and this lady rules.

    How long did it take for the side effects to fade away? What you describe sounds like what I had, did you get PVCs? I also found they didn't go away after I stopped concerta, which made me feel like the meds had "broken" something. Finding out what it was helped relief a lot of anxiety since those are relatively harmless although still very scary. Hope you are feeling better now.

    Amazing video i have being on meds only recently diagosed as well. Actually struggling to even text am off meds since yeaterday was having some side affects as well headache not eating weird being off them struggling to motivate mysef today .

    Mind. Blown. I have always hated gettin a “little bit” wet. Like getting splashed or dripped on even just a light rain. But water dripping on my arms while washing my face has ALWAYS been a really icky feeling for me. I really thought it was just a “me thing”. I never thought anyone else was like that!!!!! It’s nice to know. Thanks for this tip!! I’ve always thought I was just “particular” about stuff like this, certain sounds, mouth noises, having my face touched getting wet… hmm. When I see some of my…quirks? particularities? spelled out like that, combined with some other issues, I do wonder if it is a sign of something more.

    Little disclaimer: I do keep track of the different vitamins and minerals I am taking to ensure I don’t take too many. Having a variety just ensures I don’t get bored of the flavours and textures, giving me choices each day 😊

    I just started elvanse a bit more than a week ago, so your insights was extremely Nice. The side effects you experienced sounds a lot like the one i had when i was on ritalin, because it triggered My anxiety. Cause i Got tested through and through for heart defects and Such. But chest pain, shortness of breath, heart palpetations Are Also symptoms of anxiety. Just a thought.

    Can you not feel you can chill because you're on meds ?. I feel that's the reason why I can't chill . I always feel I need get something done . If I don't I feel I wasted the day and feel ashamed of myself .

      I’m currently on a treatment break so I haven’t taken any medication for months (haven’t found the right one yet). I’ve tried a few, some helped me to relax more than others :) I totally understand the productivity guilt you’re talking about. I get it too - trying to remember that resting is productive but it’s easier said than done!

      @@goalsandgiggles I take 20 mg Adderall XR and it took awhile to get past the side effects . I'm on 3rd month and its finally smoothing out . I'm also on my second month of keto/carnivore diet . It's made a big difference not eating so much carbs and sugar . I'm thinking of cutting sugar down to almost nothing if not cutting down completely . Then give myself one day a week to eat a sugar treat after dinner .

    Um I have I question or like smth I need help w/ so I think I have adhd and I seem to have all the symptoms but my mom doesn’t ‘believe’ in that stuff I need help

      It can be very hard for a neurotypical brained person to understand/ believe the issues of a neurodivergent person. Not all, but they are most definitely out there. Like us, they need gentle educating, patience and time to truly understand.

      Keep researching ADHD for yourself. When you have a good understanding, share the highlights of what you've learned with her. Then ask for an appointment with a psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD and have them evaluate you.

      I’m so sorry to hear that your mum doesn’t believe in a very real disability that has been researched scientifically for decades. Especially considering it’s something you’d like to look into for yourself. I can’t imagine how much of a struggle that must be for you! Maybe there’s another trusted adult in your life (like a teacher) you could talk to about ADHD? Someone who you think will listen to all your concerns? I really hope you get the support you need and deserve ❤❤❤

    Just be careful, tolerance builds and you have to increase dosages if you're on it multiple times a week and when it stops working and you have no chemical help, ADHD/focus problems will get worse. All amphetamines can be neurotoxic in the long term and in high dosages, amphetamines downregulates your normal dopamime receptors, this can in the long term cause anhedonia, diminished drive, depression, tardive dyskinesia and certain psychotic disorders and in bad cases also brain damage, the effects of amphetamines on the brain is well studied. Just be careful, everything has pros and cons.
