OK so you’re a Christian but others may not want to thank Jesus. It is still an important practice just to be thankful and appreciate the food you have to eat. This puts your mind and body in harmony before the meal and ready to receive nourishment. It reminds you that this in a way is a blessing you are receiving as many in the world and in the past have not been so blessed that God or the universe is giving you a gift of food to continue living. This frame of mind will be of great benefit to you beyond the meal as it fosters an attitude of humility and gratefulness.

This is psychologically important. It is important to Center yourself even for just a moment and think about what you are doing and how thankful you are to have food to eat. It’s simple but profound.

Even if someone isn’t religious in any way life is a gift from our planet and or god, it is something that needs to be appreciated. Our food, the air we breathe, the love we share and the love experienced from others, etc. Forgetting that, taking life for granted. That can be your downfall. After all, that’s how I hit rock bottom.

Roman Catholic pastors should take lessons from this man. The Roman Catholic church that I go to won't even allow A Eulogy after the service. And what was really cold about the Catholic church that I go to my mother brother passed away so I called the church to have the pastor call us so we can have his funeral service and we waited all day and no one called so my sister and I had to bury my mother brother by ourselves without pastoral care. Oh how I would love to have Mr. Fleming around to perform my mother brother funeral and to give my sister a little bit of comfort with Gods word.
