Morricone's "Arrangements" vinyl album is an enigma. None of the tracks were composed by him. I remember The Pink Panther theme, classic Italian 1950s or 60s songs but also standards: the film theme for a Charlie Chaplin movie (one Chaplin wrote himself) for instance, Greensleeves from the Elizabethan era, The Pink Panter theme, and a track in Mozart style. The LP I lost, but I found quite a few tracks back on the CD 'Ennio Morricone, La Grande Orchestra'. Both records are a wonderful showcase of the maestro's arranging brille. You'll find Alessandroni's I Cantore Moderrni, and Edda Dell'Orso featured too. Some tracks have a mid-seventies Moog synthesizer. But I never found out the recording dates. These studio recordings are of high quality! (so yes, mid seventies, I think)

It seems that quite a lot of spaghetti westerns of the time had a theme song - Fistful of Dollars was going to but they were cut (a good idea in my opinion as it sounded a bit too jolly.)

I don't know who this "chemical fire man" is, but he must be really cool if he listens to this kind of music.

Imho, this movie suffered most from having the wrong director. His style is more humorous than serious kinda like Conan The Destroyer. Music is slamming though.

Peter Tevis...also wrote the lyrics on this..though he's not always listed in the credits...Ennio did the music and arranged and conducted.. Peter and I were great friends...for the last 25 years of his life.
