A 500mW laser is potentially a very dangerous tool and shouldn’t be used without controls to prevent accidental exposure. Waving it around your kitchen near a window is a really bad idea! Just a few mW of 785nm laser light will blind you if it enters your eye. Imagine what 500mW will do! Over what distance does the beam diverge to the point where it doesn’t pose a threat to vision?

One must realize that PP did not cause the naturally occurring phenomenon of red tide, however, it sure as hell has caused it to explode.
