@@aaron.black107 the sport glide will do you proud… it didn’t miss a beat on my trip and with the aftermarket seat I could get off and walk around my destination without problem (after being in the saddle for 7-8 hours)!!

@@Midlife5 you're right on the seat, makes or breaks the experience. I'm so lucky to have a generous friend. Buying the seat new now would cost me £1200.00 and I know I'd have not bought it myself for that money! I'm sure my Sport Glide will enjoy it just as much as I will now too thanks to my friend Neil. Thanks Mike - my dealer are doing the 5k service for £360.00 I know, unbelievable. More money than a car service and just been told in another comment that it’s not a 3 hole service at 5k. Unbelievable. Whilst it’s in warranty I’ll keep it done at the dealer but will definitely be finding an independent for future services after this one. @@qpddd hi, it’s a Puig screen that I got off a friend. I bought the Motea screen and trust me when I say don’t bother with the Motea screen. Horrible turbulence with the Motea and build quality isn’t very good and too much flex. I’ve only had the Puig screen on for about a month and it’s definitely better than the Motea. Looks wise I love it but it is probably better using the bike without any screen or at least that’s how I find it anyway. Go all in like I am this winter, get the Advanblack Low Rider ST fairing 😎😎😎

@@aaron.black107 Hi Aaron, thanks for your quick reply, I've tried several screens now, Motea, AliExpress among others. I totally agree with your comments! I've been using the bike with no screen and clean air feels better for the summer but as I ride all year round (apart from salty days!) I'm still looking and may give the Pig a go. I think you’ll be happy with your sport glide mate. It’s the best of both worlds. I felt the same with my Dyna. Was always thinking of a tourer, then an HD dealer quietly pointed out, they’ve got same engine, with saddlebags and a screen. Also over the years, I’ve found newer isn’t always more reliable. Especially with HD. ❤️

@@bikeroffthebeatentrack 100% mate. The 2024 model RG is amazing though.. if they had been around for a few years I’d definitely be looking at getting a used one. Buying bikes new isn’t always as it’s meant to be. Like my old house, bought new and would never do that again.

Liked them though. Just got a big trip on my bike coming up soon and I’m panicking to get everything done ready. 5k service before I go too and I’m only on 3600 miles now. Got to get some miles on it before the 5k / annual service that’s due this month. Awesome bike. I love it. Had an 883 before and loved that too but once I rode a demo sport glide I had to have one. @@aaron.black107 well that sucks like a starving leech! Hopefully you'll have better luck with the FatBoy boards. I went from an '08 Super Glide Custom (loved that bike) to the Sport Glide. At the time I was working for one of the local HD dealerships so I was the 1st one in the shop to ride the SG and I was sold! Like you, I've added several items over the years. I didn't replace the seat, but added a Butt Buffer pad which made a huge difference. I added Memphis Shades hand guards and swapped out the fairing for an El Diablo fairing from LA Fairing Co. It gives it a unique look and does a pretty good job of keeping the wind off of me.

@@roycelabor4339 did you ever do anything with the bars? Risers etc?

@@aaron.black107 I did, I added the 4" HD pullback risers. You and are about the same weight, I'm 6' tall and those risers are perfect. Word of advice though, don't do what I did. When I installed the risers and locked down the bars, I set the angle a tad too low which made me think "Crap, I should've gotten the 6" risers!" I thought about it and went back, loosened the bars and rotated them up about an 1". Boom! Worked like a charm!

@@scooternut7198 loads of valid points there. I can’t believe how much I love the look of the front fairing. When I first saw it I thought it was awful but love it now. Unsure if it’s worth going for one although as you say there’s loads of benefits (like twin discs and 117) as I think it would have to be a road glide next but that might prove hard to live with everyday? Maybe the Low Rider ST is just the perfect all rounder after all?

@@aaron.black107 i know what mean thought it looked like front of dodgem car , but grown on me same as the bronze wheels (mines black bike) Plymouth/Southampton got some good deals on S/ST models got mine through Plymouth . its definately a versatile bike bags/on/off etc i dont mind smaller right bag (so many moans about it ) but allows for lots of different Muffler /exhaust choices weight and price difference over the road glide was big factor for me im 5 10 11 stone though ! look forward to seeing how you take things im a custom addict so luv the hunt for goodies and seeing them installed !

I’m torn totally as love my bike more than I ever thought I could (until I ride something else and then I’m hooked on that too) Little taller than you and looked anaemic at 13st. Your bike must be the fastest one around at your weight. I’ve subbed another CZcamsr “midlife skidlid” and he was really suffering with the softail set up of his sport glide but in the end turned out it was his weight that was causing him all the problems and being too light for it (he was about 10st) and then he upgraded to a Road King 🤩 I’m going to get my Spain trip done end of next month and see how easy my sport glide finds it. Rest and recuperation season will be upon us over the winter then and done mids will definitely be coming. I will say though, this road trip to Spain will include serious mileage… if everything goes to plan I won’t be tempted for a road glide but if it’s not all plain sailing you never know 😬😂

@@aaron.black107 good luck on your trip ! just back from my hols an despite all ive said about the Low rider St ive just traded it in for a Road glide ST ( fast Johnnie) Someone cough , cough see comments above planted the Road Glide seed in my head and a casual wander into a dealers for a t shirt near where i was staying ended up in doing the dirty deal, guess you cant underestimate the power of Social media after all !! well if i cant handle it guess i'll go full circle and end up back on a sportster ! all the best and ride safe on your Iberian adventure

Don’t know what part of the world you’re from but I’ll be going to Spain 🇪🇸 on my own bike end of September / start of October and the landscape there is like a western in the north. Really hope to make it the best content yet. Always see where I could make things better when I come to edit them. Learning from my mistakes so to speak but I’m still a novice at this really. @@saltybiker252 this is the third rack I’ve been sent.. finally got there. It’s a genuine Holdfast sissy bar and genuine docking bolt set it’s just eh luggage rack that’s Motea. Harley luggage rack has been in order since January. Told it’s due in 2025. Not good enough. Had this one on order for three months too but so glad it’s the right one 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

its a minor negative thats easily resolved with a taller screen im 5.10 and the turblence rattles my head too i have 24 FXLRST so going for an 8 or 10 klockwerks screen

Thanks Marc I really enjoyed it - there would be a Road Glide on the shopping list for sure but it would certainly be a lot harder to live with than my Sport glide and would certainly take some getting used to. Thank you Martin. Such a kind supportive comment to recieve as always! The mojo loss is mainly due to what’s going on in my personal life with family etc but that’s not for CZcams to see I just feel heartbroken at the moment and trying my best to do the good stuff and stay happy. Some days there’s tears and other days are better. Trying to not let it affect me too much and believe it or not posting the videos does help. (I’m not going to spiral into a role of self pity or anything though) trying to keep my personal life out of it and just enjoy the video creation as like you say, I am doing it for me deep down and I love it!
