TVQ Channel 0 Brisbane 1968

This is the full version of the station identification for TVQ Channel 0 in Brisbane airing 55 years ago "TOP of the DIAL for entertainment"
Channel 0 Brisbane would become Channel 10 in 1988
The logo you see here is the original TVQ 0 logo from 1 July 1965📺
The 10 Network we know today was originally comprised of Channel 10 in Sydney and Adelaide and Channels 0 in Melbourne and Brisbane 📺
Most Australians had the choice of 4 channels in the major cities in 1968 including 3 commercial stations being Channels 9 and 7 and 10 (or 0) and then the Government funded ABC-TV Channel 2
Rural Australia was also well served then with at least 1 commercial channel as well as ABC-TV from Cairns in the north to Hobart in the south as well as west to Perth(Perth actually had 3 Channels) Darwin wouldn't get TV until 1971
TV in Australia in 1968 was still broadcast in the then high definition standard of 625 line black and white and while there were plans to switch over to 625 PAL Colour broadcasting as early as 1972 it didn't happen until 1 March 1975

The day that aggregation happened was the day Regional Television died. Witnessed Ten take over & destroy Capital 7 Canberra and Midstate Television killed by the nine network. The so-called regional stations now like WIN & Prime7 dont give a crap about local content. The "regional news" is all coming from Sydney. I say bring back independent tv stations and forget about 7, 9 and 10. Lets get things back to the way they were

Actually the original was created for KCTV 5 in Kansas City when they changed call letters around 1981. The composer of the jingle was best friends with the station GM and the theme was created for the call sign change Hello KC Hello KC TV 5 loves you.
