Fixing My Neglected Utility Wagon: New Bearings and Inner Tube
My Tractor Supply utility wagon ended up with a flat innertube, so I decided to film the process of replacing it ... but after removing the wheel, I realized that the inner wheel bearing had fallen apart so I had to tackle replacing the bearings as well.

    I did this on a 2017 Forester. The old button worked fine but the rubber cover over the switch began to disintegrate and became sticky and left black marks on my fingers. The trim pieces are slightly different but the process is the same. Mine had 6 silver metal nuts and 2 black screws plus the two nylon screws underneath the side trim pieces. I had to cut off one of the nylon screws and I put it back together without replacing it since the trim seemed secure enough. I used a bicycle tire lever to pop the exterior trim piece off since I don't have a panel tool.

    Hey, nice video, what belt did you use for the snowblower?

  • @theusconstitution1776

    What’s the reasoning behind changing the pipe size from one and a half to 2 inch? As long as it’s pitched sufficiently it won’t freeze and upsizing the pipe won’t allow anymore flow. Were you thinking more room in case it freezes? When the pump comes on it sends *warm water Through the pipe, the water stays warm as it travels through the pipe simply because of the volume and the mass of the water so the bigger the pipe you have the more cold air will hold during the off cycle, but when the pump comes on the water will instantly warm up the inside of the pipe Until sometime after the pump shuts off and then the pipe will cool down again. If you’re outside, temperature is below freezing. The most important thing is sufficient pitch on the pipe.❤️‍🔥🇺🇸 * the temperature underground is a constant 52° or the year in New Hampshire or Arizona so the water coming out that pipe is likely 20+ degrees warmer than freezing so long is the water every bit of the water can flow to the end of the pipe before the pipe cools it’ll never freeze! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🇺🇸

  • @theusconstitution1776

    I currently have a concrete sump pit in the basement with no drainage under the floor. I plan on removing it to install a sump pit, but my thought is instead of using the gravel to backfill you want water to flow freely into the sump wouldn’t the dirt that you compacted around the stone Prevent the flow of water into the sump? I plan on using like 3/8 or half inch washed stone hopefully I’m making the right call! Thanks for your video. It’s very informative.

    Save yourself the hassle and trouble and stay away from this company. - They ship incomplete products. (connector for reverse cam was missing) - They do not honour the warranty they claim to give you. - Their costumer support is flat out incompetent/fraudulent I have been trying to get them to replace the missing connector for 2 weeks. But all i got from them was a lot of questions and requests for fotos in order for customer protection to expire. And then they told me to buy a 35USD CAN-Bus adapter from them in order to fix their own scew-up. (and that even though my car does not even have CAN connection to the headunit) In short: worthless criminal shit-company

    Best thing to do is use Cerakote clear over your finished work. The stuff is bulletproof. Nicest thing is, you take Krylon and spray right over the Cerakote with whatever patterns and colors you want. If you want to change it, take paint thinner and remove the paint without worrying about damaging the Cerakote. As far as firearms, you should media blast prep before doing any serious work such as wanting to Cerakote your BCG or barrel etc. BTW, black is the worse (not a color I know) color you can use for any camouflage under any circumstance other than pure darkness.

    i found the end discussion pretty interesting, I recently replaced my transmission due to some bad bearings combined with a binding center diff -whats weird is that my center diff was only binding when cold and NOT when hot, would hear a loud crack when reversing in the morning and the car would also feel like the Ebrake was slightly pulled lmao

    • @iroekyjHD
      @iroekyjHD Před 15 dny

      @@TwoFourSevenDIY I disassembled it further since I left the previous message and have a new transmission now - the circlip on the center diff had been eaten by the gears and ruined everything in the tailshaft, broke all the gears and everything -pretty sure what I was hearing in the morning and feeling was bits of gear or cir clip getting wedged in other gears and cracking teeth off. Everything was replaced with OE. Clutch and flywheel are exedy name brand now and everything has been great so far Thanks again for the video.

    • @iroekyjHD
      @iroekyjHD Před 15 dny

      For anyone reading this, if your center diff is leaking you should find dark black fluid and flakey metal specs in your trans fluid, I recommend that anytime a Subaru of this generation makes noise you pull the tailshaft cover and inspect the center diff and all bearings before pulling the entire trans -apparently it's common that the clip holding the back of the diff together fails which can ruin your entire transmission if you continue to drive on it

    Great job on the video. The process was pretty much identical on my 2017 Impreza. I left the front half of the exhaust on the vehicle. Plenty of space to work around it. The crux by far was removing the slider pins in the shifter linkage. The slide hammer to remove the case was unnecessary for me. The case came off relatively easily with a little bit of effort. I also reinstalled the bracket with the rod that one of the shifter linkages connects to, which allowed a surface to bang on with a punch to push off the case.
