Funnily enough, MaMaCoo 's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real. I have to wonder how often this goes on with other watch and high end jewelers, though, not just TGP. It seems like an industry where, when you’re doing this volume of business and working off consignment, it wouldn’t be at all hard to get into trouble, fast. I don’t know if Farrer was cheating ppl on purpose or just got in over his head, but I think some of these other guys (like those in the video) who are criticizing him might be being just a tad bit hypocritical. IDK, just seems like a very risky business overall. 🤷‍♀️

So I know this video is a year old, but thought I'd comment on the current situation in Dubai. It's still pretty much the same I'm afraid. I'm from UK but I also have residency in Dubai and I've been buying jewellery from the Gold Souq for over 10 years (not watches obviously at their prices). The reason prices are so high there despite the 5% VAT is because of supply and demand. The demand is so much higher there than in UK. In UK, I picked up a GMT Master II from the window whilst walking past Goldsmiths the other month, but in Dubai it would be several years on the waiting list and after a ridiculous purchase history. I was recently offered a Sky-Dweller after a 3 year wait in Dubai yet the same model is readily available in my local Goldsmiths in UK. If you need any assistance from Dubai then let me know as I live between UK and Dubai.
