You guys are doing awesome!!! But you should try using a nail and the claw of the hammer to get the board's flush with each other. Tie off to the header use one hand to apply leverage and the other to screw boards together. Just food for thought.

make a test piece so you dont have to lug that big board around. cut you a section long enough to fit from one section to the next and it wont be so hard on yall working on that edge of the porch. work smarter not harder.

Hi Mel and Gary, you need to include several clamps in your tool kit, I can see that a couple could make awkward jobs safer to get done. I have commented before about clamps, you get into a way of working things through. I had to mostly build on my own, clamps, ratchet straps, ropes and blocks and tackles made it possible except for really big stuff, in those instances I was not afraid to ask neighbors for help, back scratching is always a great connection builder in communities. You already know that with framily. Stay safe and enjoy.

Hey guys looking like you're making good progress but I do see something that will cause you problems in the near future... your header beam that your roof rafters are sitting on has a huge gap between the two boards that make up that beam you really need to go through and screw it together in a "w" pattern ensuring the you suck the 2 boards tightly to create 1 strong beam and it won't hurt nothing if you do it now before you get too much further because I can see daylight through the gap from the camera angle underneath and even if you have to put the screws through from both sides in a "w" pattern would even be better anyways good luck guys...looking good

I seem to remember a young lady who was very uncomfortable with heights. Now you wrap yourself around a post, hang on with a leg, hold a tie with one hand and driver in the other. You just about qualify as an acrobat.

Mel, I don’t believe 155 lbs. is enough to pry out that fascia board but you were cute trying. Hanging on to Gary was the most precious safety equipment a man could ask for. Hi Gary and Mel, we enjoy your show a lot. When putting on a hurricane strap you should be using specialized nails instead of screws. The screws has a tendency to break off under high stress loads.
