sorry, just because a song has the word “texas” or few horses and a rodeo scene video doesn’t make it country. i see they tried really hard to put a few country boot stomping sounds in it…. but if this song had played without warning on your local hip-hop station… i would have never had country even remotely in my mind. beyoncé’s voice has been engrained in the minds of people in her own lane….i give her props for trying this…. but it doesn’t work for me. it feels out of place… it feels like the song and video is trying WAY to hard to push its way into something that it’s not. it does not feel genuine… and it’s really not even a good song.. but i see all of these praises, and i don’t even feel the people who praise this as a good country song even believe what they’re saying. to say anything in contrary to this song … i think people fear they would have back-lash… and that’s sad. but i said it: 👍🏼 and if you read and think about what i said… you know it’s true. this proves people can BUY their way into anything if they have sufficient positions and income. are we gonna put a cowboy hat on eminem next…. ? call it country ? maybe elon musk can purchase a recording label… put out a few country tunes as well.

She is an American and from the South. Her lineage goes straight back to where most country music originated in Church and in the cotton fields and coal mines. I really find it amazing that she is judged so harshly. I enjoyed the music. I am not a fan of hip hop or JayZ but as a producer, the album is excellent. I know and have known many country music people and they all curse and they all like to see women half-dressed(Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders anyone?). Either way, it's just music not the bible.
